I tried to get him a good sampler of "real" beers...Not that colored water in a keg can stuff...LOL

Thinking about this one but I'm happy to step aside if a newb wants to step up and get smacked with beer. I've been hearing so much about Brooklyn stout...

Nope....no Brooklyn or Captain Lawrence.

Good breweries that we need here in California: New Glarus, Dark Horse, Terrapin, Southern Tier, Founders, Bells, and Troegs.

Founders, Bells, and Southern Tier should be here. As far as I know, they are big enough breweries that we should get them here if they only distributed this far.

They're not as big as you think although Bells did just invest in a huge expansion. We don't get any of the breweries you listed and TX is much closer than CA. Of course TX laws are pretty absurd when it comes to what has to be spelled out on the label. I would love to be able to buy Two Hearted, Backwoods Bastard, and Mokah down the street without having to trade or buy them online.

BTW you Cali guys can't bitch when you have one of the best selections in the country. If I had access to Russian River, The Bruery, Alpine, Lost Abbey, and Alesmith I would be very happy. :)

I was actually thinking about packing the beer up in a Heineken box for you...lol

Those are some of my faves from my area. Hope you enjoy. I hope you get some use out of the bottle opener and the sleeve, I find that they are priceless in a golf bag...
