Baseball pool 2005

Here is how it stands of right now. Both wildcards division teams remain up in the air until todays games are over.


Cleveland can't make the postseason if it loses Sunday. If cleveland wins and Boston loses to the DAMN YANKEE's, there will be a one game playoff between the Redsox and the Indians to see who get's in.

LA Angels
Boston or Cleveland

NL

Atlanta
St. Louis
San Diego
Houston or Philadelphia

With a one-game lead over Philadelphia, the Astros can clinch the wild card with a victory over the Cubs today. That would give Houston the wild card on the final day of the regular season for the second consecutive year.

If the Astros lose and the Phillies beat Washington, the teams would finish with identical 88-74 records and would play a one-game playoff in Philadelphia on Monday to determine the NL's final postseason berth. Should both teams lose Sunday, the Astros would win the wild card.


With that said.

To make this as difficult as I possibly can, I'm going to asign a pool letter (A or B ....8 of each) to numbers from 1 to 16. Pick a number from 1 thru 16. FIRST COME ...first serve... choose a number that has not been taken. Along with the pool letter will be one of the Playoff teams name (except for the wild card, it will simply say wildcard team AL or NL). This will place you in the pool you will be playing in along with your Team for the pool. Please post your ante of 3 premium cigars with the post of a number.

I'll take what's left.

Please do this asap or we won't be ready for Tuesday.

I'm going to PM the Pool letters with the team to an unnamed upstanding member to post so I can't be labeled a cheat! :rolleyes:

I think a first come first serve will work better on picking the numbers. We may have to wait on a few slackers to show up and read the board. So in that I've modified it. Please pick your number ( one that is left of corse) when you post your ante! Thanks.

BiggyMac picks 11 that number is gone... 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,10,12,13,14,15,16 are left to choose from.

There are going to be 2 pools you will be either in pool A or pool B not both. Players in pool A play against each other.
Players in pool B play against each other.

A pool and a team have been pre-selected for a each number at random.
This random list has already been PM'd to a secret member on this board.

Confused...LOL! Good! Now pick a number that hasn't been picked when you post your ante. We don't want you to know who your team is before you post your ante up. K?
