Wow - in all seriousness, are they real nice kicks or are those the typical prices you'd pay overseas?

Normal price (and the top of the line reeboks/nikes/new balance ect. ect. ect. go for 250 Euro upwards) :(

Levi and Wrangler Jeans go for well over a $100 a pair, thats why when I visit the states I always end up bringing back one or two suitcases more as I left with :whistling:

I did get the Nikes for considerably less on sale... but hey the sale is over now and they are back up to normal price.

I'm going to soak them in white vinegar /baking soda water Carl, it should work.

Years and years ago (at least 15 or so), there used to be these large shed-type depository boxes, bright yellow, all throughout the SF Bay area, asking, basically, for you to dump your unwanted denim there, particularly Levis. In turn, the sharp-as-a-tack individuals behind those depository boxes would take all those jeans to the Far East and Europe. Don't recall seeing any in years, but know that US denim is a commodity over there.

Well they got rid of the cat. Its on its way to the neighbor's wife's sister one town over.

They have a little baby and don't want him to get scratched if he decides to pull the cat's tail.

My Nikes are soaking in the fore a mentioned white vinegar and baking soda solution, we shall see. I did tell them that I expect compensation if the smell doesn't come out. He just nodded his head and said ok.

Good luck with the smell, Wurm. It can come out, but it takes awhile and beleive me (we have 4 cats) when I say you probably will never be quite sure if its out. I think your nose just adjusts to the smell. Also, when it gets warm, the smell seems to return, and since we are referring to shoes...well feet tend to be warm.

Plus it appears to be fairly warm over in Germany right now...I just got back from a 5 day stint over there. Started in Darmstadt, visited Heidelberg and ended up in Cologne. Was a last minute work thing. Whereabouts are you in Germany?

Grafenwöhr :)

And your right, the weather is absolutely wonderful at the moment.

It could have been worse. When I go tmarried my wifes cats did not like me and decided to piss on me one night while I was asleep. The wife found some type of enzyme treatment that works fairly well on getting the smell out. You need two treatments for it to work fully. I will see if I can find what its called and post it.

Sorry but I have to ask. Did the cats stay?

Yes for a bit, then my sisten-in-law took him. now we have him back (and he's not the one I want to get rid of). Oh and it took a lot of effort from the wife to keep me from tossing him out side to the dogs that night.

and the product name is Petzyme stain and order remover.

And sorry for thread jacking Wurm.

Germans do not wear shoes inside, you wear "house-shoes" or slippers inside. So like in Japan you take off your shoes at the house door.

I'm assuming that's due to all the cat pissing going on?

Hahaha... that was good!

Bloody cats, I had one that ruined my old apartment. Cost me a fortune in replacement curtains and window screens. I did not keep said cat for very long...
