Astros vs. White Sox 2005 World Series

Yeah and next year the Cubs win it all. :)

Oh and no, I still am "pantsless"......

Having been to games with both the dome up and down, it shouldn't make too much of difference with the crowd, beening a World Series crowd and all.

The crowd will be loud when needed, enough said. The Sox got advantage of homefield and used it to put them 2 ahead. Stros need to rally back and take the next three. The club needs to capitalize on the end of season inconsistency of the Sox, if they are on the ropes heading back to the Chi, someone may choke. So far the Sox have been solid post-season though.

As for tonight, Oswalt IMHO is the best of the staff. I would like to see him pitch an 8 inning game, and hand it to the closer to put it away.

Not to be Cpt. Obvious, but Stros fans here is where we find out if this team has it.

Two very deserving team. Only reason for me to pull for the Astros is because I drew them in the pool, otherwise, I really don't mind who wins. Two cities with a history of baseball misery with first class fans (they don't whine about it like them other sox fans).

I dunno, when I was dating my wife and I would visit her in the Chicago area most of the people I spoke to who were ChiSox fans were pretty boorish.

I know they sort of brand themselves as working class vs. the Cubs fans whom they perceive as more snobby. The whole south side vs. north side thing.

Anyway my sample size is too small to make a broad statement.

As I said before, I am rooting for the Sox for the simple fact that my stepson is a big ChiSox fan due to his real dad (who, BTW, is one of the most boorish people ever).

Still, the ChiSox fans seem an earnest lot.

Also, for the record, I am wearing suit pants and FTL boxers.

Yes if Chicago wins this year, then it would be the Cubbies turn! As a Mets fan I remember 1969 vividly, black cat and all. Here is rooting for your pants back on and the Cubs in 06.

Well im wearing no pants..
But I do have on my Whitesox "#13" jersey!!
Go Sox!!

And dammit..i hope they close the dome!
I dont want to hear any excuses from the Astros fans about not having 100% home field advantage.. But im sure it will be loud as hell tonite!!no matter if it is closed or open!

BUnch of crap.
The astros should be worrying about winning a game NOT about a freaking dome!

SOX best road record..stros best home record..
GARLAND VS OSWALT!!
short porch in left!! hope garland can get his sinker working..and hope oswalt can slow down his ridiculously explosive fastball!!!

WOW tonite is going to be an awesome game.!!
Im taking a half day!!

Interesting side note, Alex. Houston had the best home record in the NL - 53 wins. The Sox had the best away record in the LEAGUE - 52 wins... Hhhhmmmmmmm....

The MLB will not allow the roof to be closed on Minute Maid Park as long as weather permits it to be open. That is complete bull**it!!!

Looks like someone wants the Chisox to win this thing and is willing to help.

Of course they do. The Red Sox's were a giant boom in the old wallet for MLB last year and this years its being hyped the same. Jesus they made a freakin movie about it! Old team hasnt won one in X years....pan to interview with old geezer sitting in bar who remembers going to the last world series victory as a kid....play with retired players numbers to come up with some psychic "curse" lottery type number bla bla bla. Eveybody will be wearing Chisox hats next year instead of ones with red "B"'s that popped out all over this year.

Im a 'stros fan so I guess Im a little tainted.

As a side note I also agree the umpiring has been really bad this past season and Im saying that from a completely nuetral perspective. It really burns me up that an umpire is incapable of calling balls and strikes (as far as being over the plate or not) when he's standing right there and I can do a better job from my recliner. Up and down is subjective but how can you miss the calls in and out when its happening three feet in front of you?

Rant off.

Right!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is a giant conspiracy. For the SOX to win the WS..

How about ..lets see..hmmm
The White Sox have

dominant pitching..
clutch hitting.
power...
speed...
awesome defense..
great team chemistry..
good coaching staff..
hell of a bullpen..
and they are taking advantage of every oppurtunity they are given..

Nope I think your right..
the SOX are not a good team at all.
their 99 wins were all given to them...

Many Thanks..
TO..
BUD SELIG and MLB!! :sign: for giving the SOX 999 wins...and for having the BOSOX throw the series and also for the Angels for also stepping down!!

Yeah whatever I could say with a straight face those same attributes about the 'stros. :D

Lets see.

MLB has never cared about the roof being closed or not at any basenball game to my knowldge over the history or retractable roofs.

They never cared about it being open or closed during any post season game at Skydome.

They never cared about any post season game at Bankone.

They didnt care about any of the games during the regular season at Minutemaid.

They didnt care about any of the games against the Braves

They didnt care about any of the games against the Cards.

The first game in Minutemaid against the Chisox with them up by two games Caddilac Bud "there's nothing wrong with a tie game" Selig steps in and in an uprecedented move stipulates that the roof remain open. Say what you want they have no business saying anything about it. There's a puppet master at work and he wears goofy glasses and shops at a 70's thrift shop. :p

I think they might have lost "it" somewhere along the line

It doesn't look like anyone will score tonight. Great game so far, with some great defense.

This one looks like it will be a long one like last night.
