I believe this World Series is going to be one of the most exciting I can remember. Both teams are pretty much evenly matched. Both have good offense and defense, but neither is led by just one person. Neither team has been exposed to the other until now. The Sox won it today, but this was just one game in the series. What's very clear is that Houston is far from done. I don't care whether you like the Sox or Astros, it was a nail biter to the end... I can't wait to see how this is all going to play out... :thumbs:

Two very deserving team. Only reason for me to pull for the Astros is because I drew them in the pool, otherwise, I really don't mind who wins. Two cities with a history of baseball misery with first class fans (they don't whine about it like them other sox fans).

Very good for baseball to have teams not usually thought of for World Series play. My son is a huge Yankees fan but his therapist says he'll be okay, and I were talking about how cool this years World Series is compared to the Yankees vs. whoever.

This was not good for my beloved Stros. You'd have thought Lidge learned that serving the ball up right at the waist line up over the plate is not a good thing. I'm not going to put this one on Lidge.... he can share the blame with Wheeler and Qualls who blew it big time in the 7th. Oh yea.... lets not forget home-plate umpire Jeff Nelson.

You know, umpiring this entire year has sucked, but everyone is now jumping on the umps because no one watches baseball until the playoffs. Not to discount your thoughts though, Kenny. Baseball has needed to work on that problem all year and no one should be surprised it continues. It's all in the lights they are playing under anyway. When they go back to Houston the Astros will start winning. LMAO!

It should be the home teams decision to play in whatever state they want their roof to be in. Isn't that one of he benefits of playing a home?

Actually it is MLB's decision as to the playing conditions of a field. I'm pretty sure this is all in the contracts between the teams and the MLB. If the weather permits, it shouldn't make a difference. You can either play ball or you can't and at this point, it doesn't look like the Astros can and are looking for an excuse when they lose.

Of course they do. The Red Sox's were a giant boom in the old wallet for MLB last year and this years its being hyped the same. Jesus they made a freakin movie about it! Old team hasnt won one in X years....pan to interview with old geezer sitting in bar who remembers going to the last world series victory as a kid....play with retired players numbers to come up with some psychic "curse" lottery type number bla bla bla. Eveybody will be wearing Chisox hats next year instead of ones with red "B"'s that popped out all over this year.

Im a 'stros fan so I guess Im a little tainted.

As a side note I also agree the umpiring has been really bad this past season and Im saying that from a completely nuetral perspective. It really burns me up that an umpire is incapable of calling balls and strikes (as far as being over the plate or not) when he's standing right there and I can do a better job from my recliner. Up and down is subjective but how can you miss the calls in and out when its happening three feet in front of you?

Alex, I wasn't trying to take anything away from the Chisox, they are in the World Series because they earned it and deserve to be there. All season the Astros have stated that "with the roof closed the excitement and noise of the fans have been that extra player" for them. The MLB should have no say in whether or not they can close the roof. It's bull**it!
