Astros-Braves playoff thread

The stros have the strongest starting pitching in baseball. Their downfall will most likely be their bats. They are just to inconsistant. If the bats show up they can make a run to the Series but without the bats forgetaboutem.

Pitching wins games in the post season more so than in the regular season. Houston has a considerable edge over Atlanta in this respect. The Cardinals on the other hand have just as good if not a better bullpen with a couple of fantastic starters (Carpenter) as well.

It's a THREE game series now with Houston having the "edge" in that the next two games are at Minute Maid Park.

I dunno, I see this series going five games with Pettitte pitching in Atlanta for game five against Smoltz.

The Cardinals bullpen has been kinda sucky lately. Even though the Cards won the first two from San Diego it the bullpen let in all but 1 of the runs San Diego scored.

The Cards at 38 games over .500 should beat the Padres 2 games over .500 and that has been happening. The Stros should be a much better series if they can get past the Braves. Nice pitching staff and a couple of hot bats should carry them to the next step.

BTW the home team being decided by the All Star game result still sucks.

Eric, suck on this! 7-3 ASTROS!!!

Oswalt gave Atlanta hell through 7 1/3 innings! The Good Guys are now 72/100 at home this season with another at home tomorrow. Doesn't look good for ATL. :whistling:
