Ashton ESG Robusto's

Nothing at the Tinder Box in Haverford. I don't think Rebel Valley or Wooden Indian had the Churchills when they came out, so I guess it's off to Holts tomorrow to see what I can find. More to come...
 
I spoke with the local B&M, and they can get the robustos in, however, they are $17.95 per stick. They currently have 7 Churchills in at $18.95 per stick....for the $1 difference, the Churchills seem the way to go IMHO.

I wouldn't pay $18.95 for a churchill either.

True but the Siglo VI is bigger and better then the ESG Robusto.

So far nothing has hit the shelves in Arlington Grapevine or Fort Worth yet. I'll be sure to let ya know if I spot em.

I think the better comparision would be with the Cohiba Robusto. That can be found (when not on special) from $13-15 a stick.
 
hmm.. Ashton called me yesterday and told me they are sending out the ESGs and wanted to confirm if its ok to ship..
Could be robustos if they started to hit the shelves!~ I didn't ask what size it was thinking that it was churchills..
I guess I'll find out tomorrow when it arrives. :p

I should just pick the damn thing up next time! Ashton distributor is only 10 min from my shop~
 
Well, I was at the door at 15th and Walnut when they unlocked it at 9 A.M. today, and I can confirm that Holt's does indeed have the ESG Robusto, at the MSRP of $17.50 per stick. There's no posted limit per se, but the Mgr. was leery of selling me more than 4, citing all the "internet activity" around the ESGs. He actually told the girl behind the counter to ask me my name and almost had her check my ID. Guess I'm not well-known enough there yet. :blush: They also had a big box of the Churchills, for anyone who's interested. Other than my 4 I picked up the Pepin Garcia Colecciones Del Rey Sampler advertised in their last catalog and online here.
 
More hype to add to the Churchill release.

I must say that I enjoyed the Churchill I re-visited this week with 6 months sleep time.
However, I prefer the VSG's.

Well, they're in my car now and I'm at work w/o a camera...I'll post a couple when I get home.

And for those who think they're too expensive, don't buy them! There's obviously a market for them at this price, just as there is for Opus and the $150 4-stick holiday packs and other high-priced Prometheus stuff Fuente puts out.

Edit: I forgot I had to run home over lunch to let the new puppy out to do his business. Here's a pic of today's purchase:

And yes, I'm aware that there are two Series JJ's in there and no Havana VI's...Holts is correcting the mistake.
