Like the "Natural" line from MD Cigars?

If they are... I'm going to be laughing at a friend of mine for days to come.

Wurm,

You sparked my interest in wanting to know that as well, so I went and checked it out, and supposedly they are not flavored nor aromatic, the Natural line that is..It is said that they use 12 different vintage tobaccos from different locations, like Haiti ,Turkey, etc and also pipe tobacco, from what I read, to get the unique flavor profile. :)

Adding Pipe tobacco sounds like what I consider "flavoring" and would explain my friends unhappiness with his latest purchase. lol

Yeah thats what I kind of thought as well, personally I wouldn't keep them anywhere near my normal sticks If i acquired any.. :)

The only Drew cigars I know of that aren't flavored are La Viea Hababa and Early Years, which they don't even make anymore.

Speaking of pipe tobacco cigars anyone remember the Garress??

Acid 1 (Black) is not a flavored Cigar and La Vieja Habana is another but I don't know if he makes any other more or less "normal" ones.

LOL he just called and dog vomit was one of the few terms he used for the Leche

Sucker better not try giving me these things for christmas. :sign:

Natural Jucy Lucy Jucy Lucy is a small cigar that erupts with adventurous flavor. Cameroon leaf fans will embrace Jucy Lucy's smooth character and caramel finish. Flue cured tobacco from Zimbabwe, combined with a delicious Nicaraguan blended filler illustrates Jucy Lucy's expressive texture.

Natural Elixir 5 - 50 Elixir 5 - 50 is created with case and flue cured tobaccos, adding pistachio sweetness unexplored in the traditional tobacco fermentation process. Vanilla cream, nougat and crushed peanuts tease the palate in preparation for a buttery smooth smoke that follows

Natural Mixed Elements Mixed Elements is Natural's Churchill sized cigar made with three different leaves from Western Africa. Mixed Elements smooth draw and evenly balanced bouquet was designed to satisfy cigar smokers who crave big body without intense stength

Natural Egg Egg is masterfully shaped to last a full 2 hours. Tobacco from 4 continents are jam packed into this plump pungent bomb. Egg is an algorithm of Drew's reputation for creative blending and dedication to achieving the impossible.

Natural Blackout Blackout has a ripe, full exuberant character, yet remains cool and smooth through the entire smoke. Blackout was crafted with an intricate mix of diverse estate tobaccos from regions which have long growing seasons. Blackout has a double maduro wrapper which comes from low-yielding, sun soaked fields in San Andrea, Mexico.

Natural Leche Leche has an unmistakable high-volume flavor and complexity that offers a stylistic diversity to the rest of the Natural line. Blossoming with flavors that range from white almonds to apricot and spice. Leche's complex texture is combined with a full bodied "olor" in its bellowing smoke. Leche it the strongest cigar to be released in the Natural Line.

Natural Twigs Natural Twigs is Drew Estate's answer to a cigarillo. Smooth Connecticut hade wrapper coddles each twig, emitting a subtle sweetness similar to a barrel-aged white wine. Conveniently sealed in a 5 pack zip lock bag for easy travel. Natural Twigs are designed to please cigar smokers who desire the ideal aperitif.

Natural Green Hero Green Hero is a very special torpedo with a natural wrapper leaf nurtured in the Nicaraguan shade. Rich burley cured tobacco from Cypress, Mexico and the southern United States provide for a taste unlike any other cigar in its class. Subtle aromas of sweet spice and oak gently dissipate as a blanket of maple syrup coasts the front of the palate. Green Hero is a heavyweight in maturity with deftly layered flavors.

Natural Root Root is mocha-cappuccino in a cigar, which finishes with a rich mouthful of intense grubby Oakwood and wine. Root is one of the Drew Estate's most distinctive cigars and is worth making Esteli Nicaragua a world landmark to cigar-heads. Root has a depth that only a new-world manufacturer could create.

Natural Dirt Dirt is named for the midnight black soil of Pueblo Nuevo, Nicaragua where we grow and cure Maduro leaf. Dirt is a ripe and seasoned smoke with an unforgettable mane. Dirt appeals to every cigar smoker
Natural Clean Robusto Clean Robusto is an exceptional cigar that mandates strict attention to detail during the blending process. A cigar of piercing spice and distinction. Clean robusto is the only Natural with a Sumatra Wrapper.

Natural China 5 China 5 is the smooth, supple Cameroon corona that you smoke while walking on the beach with your honey. Palate dazzling flavors of English Toffee and peanut brittle smack you in the face when you get caught checking out the other bikinis!

Natural White Rabbit White Rabbit is the subtle and always enjoyable. Pull one out of your hat after dinner and skip dessert!

Natural Madusa She's one mean culebra. 3 twisted cigars in one fantastic package

Just seeing Drew Estate on the box prompts me to look elsewhere in the humidor...

SMOKE: Was the Industrial Press line - a more conventional cigar with some interesting shapes - a response to critics who held the view that you only do what they consider "flavored" cigars?

JON: Not at all. We like cigars. We like Fuente, Padrón, Perdomo, Camacho - a lot of Nicaraguan cigars - so one day we said, "Hey, let's blend some cigars primarily with this great Nicaraguan tobacco." Then we wrapped them with a beautiful sun-grown Ecuador wrapper from the Oliva family.

SMOKE: How would you describe that cigar's flavor profile?

MARVIN: Medium to full. The people who are expecting a taste similar to an Acid and Natural won't find that in an Industrial Press. But if you like those Nicaraguan-style cigars, you'll enjoy them. We really put time into aging them well.

JON: And even if you're a fan of Acid, or Natural, or both, and you're looking to try a more traditional blend, this is for you.

Never had this one & i like "those niciraguan-style cigars"

Hmmmmmmm

I don't think the outdoorsman reserve (or whatever it's called) is a flavored smoke. If they are, it's not much. I smoked one, and noticed no flavoring at all, it was a mild medium at best.

The IP line is ok...the MASS is probably the better of the line, the brikk being just too much of something or many things that you can't really put your finger on or simply enjoy. The LVH was the best bang for your buck at an avg. price per box of $25.00, again nothing fancy. I always thought that the Acid line was the "flavored" line. I'm actually surprised that the Natural line had some duds.

Are they as crappy as a Lars Teten?
Gawd...my stomach churned just typing that word...

Ok so i am guilty they had cool shapes and i did not read past the word natural. short review of the leche ugh yuk putrid i think im gonna vomit thinking about it.I only have 3 more to suffer through.

I have tried both the Lars Teten's and Drew Estate Natural out of curiosity.

Lars Tetens absolutely suck, I couldn't get rid of them fast enough (Bought a 5er from CBid)

Drew Estate Natural, I tried the Root. IMHO I don't consider it to be that bad. You asked if it is flavored. I don't think it is. Smells like pipe tobacco and does not have that nasty flavored aftertaste. The description...

Root has a depth that only a new-world manufacturer could create.

is the same description that I have heard many people on this BB use to describe a cigar "woody" "Mocha". I believe they are referring to the blend in the tobacco which gives it that flavor... If you do a search for the word "mocha" you'll see that it is in alot of reviews on this BB.

I am not defending this line line as being "Non-flavored" just giving my opinion. :p

Well Double D "most generously" gave me the "Natural Clean Robusto" to smoke yesterday while I was over his house to bother him and his wife while they were getting ready for todays feast... (I did help carry heavy stuff around so I wasn't totally useless lol )

NASTY! The tip of the cigar was so sweet it was cloying. I did try to give this cigar the benefit of the doubt, but I was only able to handle it for half its length before dropping it in the buttcan for good.

Tasted like someone cut open a bunch of swishers sweets mixed it with captain black and rolled it in a blunt wrapper.

I don't even like flavored pipe tobacco. I prefer my pipe tobacco to be natural with no casing. I can't even imagine what a cigar with pipe tobacco would taste like. Probably be pretty rancid.

The Drew Estate lines including Natural and La Vieja Habana are not flavored or infused. I carry several of these in my store including the entire Vieja line and most of the natural line which include Elixir, Root, Dirt, Egg, Medusa etc. These are all long filler, no pipe tobacco or other additives.
