Anything worth getting from Thompson?

A friend of mine is ordering a humi from Thompson that he really wants. I'm adding the 3 Xikar's for $65 to his order.

Is there anything else worth trying from them or is everything either crap or overpriced? I would guess that any cigars not "on sale" are priced at full MSRP, but some of the sale pricing might make it worthwhile.

NO.

and be sure not to give them your telephone numebr and ask them to promptly remove you from their mailing list.

Much better vendors to work with. Lots of good deals to be had with vendors who are active on this site. Just look for their sales.!

Thompsons blows, however, I bought my very first humi from them and it actually was pretty solid quality. Their cigars on the other hand... where is the puke icon when you need it?

And salt the mailbox so that no mail can grow there again.

Thompsons is to Newbies as a cigar source as cigar Aficianado is a periodical about cigars for the Newbie.

They both are responsible for helping many new cigar smokers get started.

However, neither is worth a squat once you become educated to the better ways and sources for cigars and cigar knowledge. It is the long time smoker's duty to enlighten new smokers to those better sources.

That is what being a BOTL is all about... Passing It Forward whether it be knowledge or cigars.

Unfortuneately, the only place I know of to get candela wrapped La Gloria Cubanas.

In a big city like Baltimore, I would seek out the biggest cigar shop in your area. If they're worth a dam they have a General Cigar Co. account.
They should be able to order you these cigars.Although not very popular General still manufacures the Candela La Gloria, and anyone who carries La Gloria, Punch, Partagas, and Macanudo should have access to this cigar.

Thompson's storage of cigars is horrible, I've seen cigars from them fall apart taking them from the cello. Try not to buy anything you are actually gonna smoke from them. They have decent accesories but ALL of their cigars are under humidified.

Im going to be devils advocate and say their Transporter lighter 2 fer.

Its a dead ringer of the one I bought in their store a couple years ago and Ive had good luck with mine.

For a cutter MD cigars has a better deal in the for sale section for Xikars.

How much for the lighter? I got the same one at the local shop for about eight bucks.
