It's kind of pricey so I was wondering if anyone tried it.

It's the new maduro one. Thanks for any feedback. ;)

Steve

I'd actually be interested in feedback for ANY of the 601's.

I haven't had the blue label yet, but have had the red label. I picked a couple up at the Sosa Family Cigar shop at Downtown Disney while there on vacation with the family. The 601 red was a great cigar, very strong, full bodied smoke.

Downtown Disney, as in Downtown Disney of So Cal? If so, I'll have to check it out.

I've had the Red Label as well, and I agree... great smoke!
Sorry, I can't help with the 601 Blue Label!!!

Oh great googilymoogily, I guess I'll just have to get a fiver.

The maduro 601s are outstanding. Even better, in my opinion, than the reds. But, I love them both. The only one I really don't like that much is the Conn. one...I forget the label color on that one...green, gold...whatever. Best bet in these are either the red or blues.

Typical full-bodied Pepin stick, but not ass-busting or anything. Very, very tasty and, if you get some, let it sit in your humi for a bit and you'll be even happier.

I think the Blue label is the best out of the Pepin Brand but to be honest I'm still not that fond of it either. But still put my name on the Blue Label Lancero list for 2 boxes! Maybe I can learn to be a Pepen Whore like so many I see here on the board. :D

They're not talking about the "Don Pepin Garcia" brand blue label. They're talking about the 601 Serie that Pepin makes for United Tobacco....of which there is one with a blue label. :D

Haven't tried one, but it looks great!

Be wary of looking for a "Pepin-esque" cigar when you read that it's blended by Don Pepin. I like the 601's but they are a far cry from being what you expect from the Pepin line, Cabiguan, Tatuaje or even Padilla.

They are good cigars and probably the best use of what tobacco United decides to buy, but I do think that it is different than what is bought for the botique lines of Tatuaje, Padilla & Pepin lines.

Looks like I'll have to get a fiaver of the 601 Habana and maduro and check them out! Thanks MC

Interesting that you should say that. The Troya label has a Don Pepin blend it is advertising. I have not tried it but just the Pepin name have made the sales skyrocket. I would be interested if anyone tried these.

SJM...there are a few threads about the pepin Troya Classico. I like them a lot, however for the price I prefer the black label Don Pepin Garcia's. I am too lazy to do the search but if you search Troya Classico you should find 2 or 3 threads about it.

Sorry for the thread jack.

The only place that I found with them is Atlantic. Kinda pricey, too, at around $35 a five pack.

Maybe if I can find something else to couple it with that I actually want.

Rob, I don't know what you mean about the 601 cigars but I have tried (both the Ct. shade and the Nic.) and I find them to be of high quality and very good. United Tobacco isn't advertising that these are Pepin blends or that they are made by Pepin, he rolls their cigars. Eddie and Erik of Untied Tobacco actually blended these cigars using the same quality tobacco that Don Pepin uses so I don't know where you are getting your information from. I had a 601 Red the other day that was a few months old, and I really liked it. Smooth creamy leathery taste right to the end.

"A far cry from those others" which I did not find to be the case, isn't necessarily a bad thing, do all cigars have to taste exactly like those lines to be good??
