Anybody smoke alone?

I do most of my cigar smoking at the poker table in the winter months. In the spring and summer months I try and enjoy at least one cigar a day alone to reflect and relax.

I treasure the ones I smoke with others. But there is a great quality to smoking a cigar alone if I get my mind right. Almost mystical. Sometimes I feel I am smoking with God. Both are good.

I have to agree. I enjoy smoking with fellow BOTLs, but also enjoy those times on the back deck when I'm smoking alone. Those alone times are when I put things into perspective and reflect on how great life is. Truly wonderful.

Seriously, the wife smokes teeny little "girl" cigarettes but they take 5-10 mins and then I'm left to my own. So, the reality is most of the time it's usually just me having a smoke....though I usually have at least one of the doggies to keep me company.

A couple of guys from work smoke; one of which is in town for one week a month (lives in SF) so when Jack is around, we hit a whisky / cigar lounge close to where I work. Last time he was in town he brought Monte #2's and next time he's in town, I've got some Padrone 26 Serie #1's for him and me.... But - that's the exception...doesn't happen often enough.

If I'm at home, I smoke alone in front of the house. The only exception when the neighbors are smoking cigs. After they are done, I smoke alone. I enjoy the time alone like most have said, allow time to clear the mind. Sometimes I enjoy walking around the base with a nice smoke.

Other times I head down to the local B&M and smoke with fellow BOTL's. Get some good conversation and a nice smoke.

I smoke alone about 95% of the time.

I smoke alone almost exclusively these days. It just seems to work out that way except for walks with my family or sponsored herfs at the local B&M. It really is a different experience from smoking in the presence of others. But then I tend to be a private person so maybe that's jsut a natural outcome of my personality.

Alone is it for me, every once I'll go to the local VFW and smoke over there. They only smoke cigarettes so they don't share the same enjoyment as us cigar smokers. The one good thing is the inexpensive booze, I usually walk over there so if I have a few too many I don't have to worry how to get home.

Most of my smoking with others consist of Corona Cigars with others who enjoy them too.

Actually, in the real world, I only have one buddy to smoke with but we only get together maybe 2x a month. I prefer to smoke alone anyways. That is the way that you can truly enjoy the flavors of a cigar. When you are busy talking to other people you don't concentrate your full attention on the cigar. This is why I have such an expensive taste in cigars. I am always so focused on my cigar that I just can't stand a shitty one.

This is not to say that I don't also enjoy smoking with others. Some of the best smoking moments in my recent memory are when I have met up with people on this board or others to smoke.

One of my greatest smoking experiences was when I got to smoke with several BOTLs at LCDH in TJ. Having a custom rolled cigar from Taboada and being able to smoke it right there with him was awesome. A once in a lifetime experience.

Agreed...this is my MO...except when I decide to take a little time out of work day and go to my loical B&M to sit with those guys, chat and smoke.

I smoke a lot at work and always after dinner. Occasionally I will smoke when in the hot tub but it's hard to keep the cigar from getting wet and I seem to waste more cigars than smoke when I do that.


I do have a client that smokes and every time we get together we smoke.

I smoke alone quite often, many times while driving. I enjoy having someone to smoke with, but there's not always someone available, and I can't let that stop me

I smoke alone most of the time usually when i am out in the woods or at the lakes driveing etc. Once a week i have a little herf at the house were 1-2 botl come over we smoke in the basement or on the terrace wich will soon be the smokeing room. Smoking alone is a great time to reflect on things and adds to the expierence I often come up with my best ideas while smokeing alone in the woods.
