Anti-freeze mistaken for homebrew

True. Hell they could have been drunk to begin with, or not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

They were probaby already drunk. Alcohol abuse is a big problem in the bush. Many towns have adopted laws banning booze due to the number of deaths every year. Some folks out there will literally drink themselves to death. Alcohol poisioning happens a few times a year.

So why ban alcohol as a whole? If they drink themselves to death, +1 for the rest of us. Yet again another example of punishing the masses for the sins of a few. :angry:

Greetings! Maybe they thought that the antifreeze was wine. There have been cases of people wanting a drink so badly that they will knowingly drink antifreeze, wood alcohol, after shave lotion, etc. It is a terrible thing for people to be in that shape. Regards, knightlaird

How does this fit into the Darwin Awards, as it happened on Dec 31? The only problem is that you have to split it between the woman who drank it and the idiot who stored the antifreeze in a soda bottle...

Being a homebrewer myself that just makes no sense. First of all...a homebrewer doesnt bottle beer in soda bottles as it wont properly seal for storage. Second of all, the Antifreeze should have made them sick off the bat. Hell the taste of it should have rung off bells. So in conclusion, she couldnt have been the sharpest tool in the shed. Doesnt matter if she was drunk prior to it or now. And could she talk if she was dead.

I thought that antifreeze had a very sweet taste that isn't bad at all. Not saying that I have had or want any antifreeze this morning, but I do know that dogs and cats love it due to it's sweet taste.

Also, while we are on the subject, if your kids accidentally drink some, the reversal is supposed to be as much alcohol as you can get down them. I don't remember the exact chemistry behind it, but I know that in one of my organic chem classes we learned about the affects of antifreeze on the body and the reversal mechanism...
