Howdy,
Living in SW Florida heat is obviously a problem.
I have two coolers set up now and the vertical one for storing boxes is giving me some trouble. I can put two of those blue fake ice blocks wrapped in a towel on top of the horizontal cooler (outside) and it keeps the temps down around 66-68 degrees all day, so no real problem there.
The other one as I said is vertical because of space constraints, so I can't really rest a block on top very well. My question is, can I but a block in the bottom of the cooler separated from the boxes by a shelf and get away with it? In one other thread someone said my humidity would zoom up but I'm not sure if the original poster was talking about the re-freeze blocks or real ice.
I have A/C on all day and have found the coolest closet. I have even shut down some vents as far as I dare to push more air towards that closet but it stays about 70 on the floor no matter what I do so I have to use additional means of some sort.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
