That thread SEEN HERE prompted a question, and rather than jack the gentlemen's thread, I figured I'd start another.

So it's a given that the #000 series is all the same blend, and to me, it shows how the vitola can affect the tastes of the blend. To me (and my Noob palate) the 2000, the 3000 and the 6000 taste somewhat different.

The 6000's shape is my favourite (followed closely by the Lancero) but where I get my smokes, it's almost double the cost of the 2000 and significantly more than the 3000.

So, how many of you prefer the 6000 by enough of a margin that it overcomes the cost difference?

I prefer the 6000 over any of the others, for some reason.

I can find the 6000 for $6.50 or so. The DCM #5, when I can find them, are usually closer to $10.

I've yet to try anything but a few 3000's, so next time i have access, i'll pick up a variety of their regular series.

I have no idea when that will be, because the nearest cigar shop i know of, with any selection, is in Salem NH. So, we;'ll see what they have when I get back to Vegas.

I think the 3000 was my favorite, although it might have been the 4000 (G&C88 remembers which one it was, but I always get it backwards). Although I enjoyed it more, it was by a slight margin over the 2000. I hated the 2000's at first, but I left the remaining ones alone for a few months before I found them at the bottom of a box. Upon lighting one of those up I discovered what all the fuss was about. I'd take the 2000's for the price difference (my local B&M sells them for 60 a box). This thread reminds me that I need to pick up a box soon.

The difference between them was noticeable, but not enough for me that I would buy the more expensive vitolas. For what the larger vitolas cost, there are other cigars that I'd rather buy.

the 6K is about double the cost of the 2K and because of that i dont smoke the 6K. I have had them before and they are good, but i cannot tell a major difference in flavor, certainly not enough to just drop twice the amount of $.

PS_ what dk_ace said!

The 6000 has been my least favorite so far, but the example I smoked was fresh and I usually smoke Padrons with 1-2 years of age minimum. Also, it was a maduro and I much prefer the naturals in the Padron series.

It terms of value, you can't beat the 2000s imo.

I've got a box of the 3000s coming from Al right now. They've proven to be a great golf course cigar and the price is right on. I've got to second the notion that the 6000's price, I'd rather buy something else.
