LOL...nice "genre" and fun constest. How about we send the winnings to the troops at www.opfth.com?

He was working so hard at that it would have been a shame to jump over him. Congrats Strayvector and thanks for the contest MC

You should take the Descendents out of the genre Screwed, Blued and Tattooed.... at least take out the Milo Goes to College album. At that time, no one was screwed (though I guess you could say Milo was screwed because he was leaving the band), no one was blued (though I guess Milo once again could be blue for having to take up chemistry instead of rock-n-roll) and no one was tattooed when that album was made. :) They were just a bunch of SoCal nerds who liked coffee and weinerschnitzel hot dogs. LOL!

The Ride the Wild, Milo..College times.... :)

A little later than Milo Goes to College, Enjoy! album instead. This is when they got their first tattooed guy, little Dougie.. LOL!

Thanks, I was wondering where you were...and it turns out you were taking pity on me. :)

Very true...though for me, that period of time in my life was all of those things, and was accompanied by repeated playings of that lp (and, also of their offspring, ALL's lps).

So true. Actually, I told him in PM, that he made such an effort, I would have sent him a prize even if he never got it. Lol.

And as for sending it to OPFTH, consider it done. Outstanding idea brother.

Awesome! Thanks again for the fun constest.

I'm still in that period and have been since 1980.. LMAO! I still have a couple original pressings of Ride the Wild. Everything else is on CD/iPod now. I Don't Wanna Grow Up gets regular rotation on the iPod........ I listened to All, but always preferred Milo doing the vocals. Saw 'em once with about twenty people in the room. Right smack dab in the middle of a snowstorm during the Enjoy tour. Probably one of the best performances of the many, many times I saw them.

As you can tell by just a portion of my playlist, I too am still in that period. Very much so. Never left it really. And still have the original lps too. Like you, I always preferred Milo too. Living out in Cali at the time, and spending many summers down in SoCal, I used to love seeing them. Thankfully, SST is still alive and wel also, still cranking out vinyl...though I don't know if you can still get all those Black Flag lps, eps, 45s and 10inchers on colored vinyl like back in the day (and which I still have). But, also, this is the digital age and much of my collection has been duplicated by way of cd or iTunes as well.

My pleasure brother. Thanks for participating and for your generosity in supporting our troops.
Semper Fi.

on colored vinyl like back in the day

Brings back memories.. I had every LP The Misfits made, most of them on several different colored vinyl. Their last one with Danzig on vocal swas a cool purple vinyl with green on the center sticker. I know they're are still some small labels and bands putting out 7" singles, but those were the days of some pretty cool artwork and colored vinyl combos.

Ahhhh The Misfits...before Danzig started taking himself too seriously. Well, Samhain was good too, then it was downhill from there IMHO.
Though, I gotta say, "13" was one of the greatest songs ever written by Glenn Danzig...and done amazingly by Johnny Cash.

Recently I was privildged enough to see The Angry Samoans and Agent Orange here in vegas about a month back. All of my old vinyl was stolen about 8 years back, but I have managed to reclaim a few of them.

I have a couple really cool Misfits 7"..
A black 3 hits from hell
Legacy of brutality (lp)
I also have Initium (samhain) on Vinyl

I also have a ton of Social Distortion, Motorhead and Minor threat stuff on vinyl (I love yard sales)

I had a white vinyl Initium... I thik it may have had a red swirl in it too, but not too sure. I had all the old Dischord 7" singles too..... I wish I still had all my old vinyl. It would have lasted a bit longer than the dope I bought when I sold them at the secondhand record store.. LMAO!!!

Oh and the coolest Misfits 7" was Bullet, IMO. I'd ike to have Cough/Cool again though too.

Just watched Another State of Mind, again, the other night.

Anyone have Suburbia on DVD????

Yep. I do. It's actually available rather cheaply now.
Another State of Mind is excellent as well. Have both on dvd.

Have followed Social D for years, and still have all the old vinyl and colored vinyl. Lps, 45's, etc. Have a massive collection of vinyl actually. And for Dischord...my God, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Dag Nasty, Nation of Ulysse, etc. Have all that on vinyl as well. Now both vinyl and digital.

Love it all.
