All Things Golf

Got out this afternoon for a quick 9. Was windy and about 40*, hit 1 green and shoot 39. It was rough, but you gotta do it.

That's some great scrambling there!  I remember CO weather well.  Spent 3 years in Canon City for high school.....it snowed early AM on the day I graduated, May 24, 1980...it was completely gone by 11 AM and was 70 degrees that day!

Yeah, I was leading a major golf tournament in Vail when I was 17. Woke up to about 8" of fresh powder. Tricked down the mountain on time to play for the volleyball championship. Forgot to
Mention this was July.

July?....that's crazy!.....but that's what it's like being in those elevations

I'll be playing in our "Masters" tournament at my club this weekend.  Pairing party tomorrow night where I'll get a Pro to pair his scores with mine for Sat and Sun with lowest combined score being the winner.  It's a lot of fun.....sometimes you ended up rooting for someone you normally don't!

After not playing much of late I shot 86 on Sunday and 78 yesterday. Now to glue myself in front of the TV all week to watch The Masters.

Surprised nobody has an opinion on the whole Tiger fiasco!

Only surprising part of all of it to me is that people can somehow convince themselves that he knowingly broke the rule, only to follow it up with self-incrimination during the interview with absolutely nothing to gain by doing so?

Yeah, and he still finished add low American. After a 4 stroke penalty for a perfectly hit shot. Mortal golfers would have chunked 2 more in the water and taken a 12.

I personally don't think our care about Tiger the person. But, I sure do like to watch him play golf.

I think that's why he wasn't DQ'd after "signing the incorrect score card".  He didn't know he broke the rule, then he was notified on the 18 fairway he wasn't going to be penalized for the infraction.

I think what screwed him, was in the interview when he said he deliberately dropped 2 yards back to take two yards off the shot.  The rules committee then decided he knowingly broke the rule and charged him the 2 shots, but didn't DQ him because of the original ruling.

I don't really like Tiger the person; but like fishes, I like to watch him play.

I agree with your thoughts on the situation.  Enough said though.  I heard enough last night and today to make me already forget who won!  Great finish to The Masters!  Both Scott and Cabrera are great ambassadors to the game.  But you'd think Cabrera would have some confidence to speak English on TV by now!

Only good thing about all the Tiger talk is I haven't heard anybody talking about Scott's putter!

It's a Cameron Prototype! ;)

Went for a 1/2hr with the pro yesterday. He showed me how to swing the club again...opposed to 'looping' it like I started too.
It will take some work to re-groove things...but I'm willing!!!

Did the same myself yesterday, but I took an hour to try and burn the old habits from memory! It's amazing how those old habits just never go away.

Sorry to see that. The fairways here have some early shades of green setting in and tee times are filling up fast!

What I live with I learn. What I learn I practice. What I practice I become....and it's usually a slice! ;)

CLOSE THAT FACE AT IMPACT!!...   I just love the weak fade....could've been a good shot but fell 20 yards short and to the right!

Well, two things...the take-away was inside and lead to an open face at the top. The other was the 'hold off' ....not releasing.

I took a swing with the ball positioned about a foot in front of my actual set up...Yup...STILL sliced it.
Needless to say, he was impressed.

I don't know WHERE that part came from (fear of the left side or physical fear because of injuries)...but once I committed to the release....I had a nice little draw.

So now, practice practice practice!

My worst habits are releasing to early (occasionally) hitting it fat and allowing the head of the club make contact with the handle lagging, hence, causing an open club face and the weak fade.  I notice whenever I focus on one thing heavily, I end up forgetting about some other moving parts!

Perfect practice makes perfect. Got to ensure you are practicing correctly and when you start to lose focus let it be. Don't want to develop any bad habits.
