Adjustable Digital Hygrometers

Thanks for reporting back, Mac.

Good information, careful studies, and closure make this thread an excellent model for the kind of high-quality content we love to see at the Pass.

Just a little update... I went ahead and got the Boveda kit, put both hygros in for 24 hours and the results......

bout the same as the salt test. One off by 4% and one off by 5%. Just as I had origianlly suspected and observed in the beaded environment. Oh yeah... changed batterys.... same thing.

This confirmed what I think I already knew.... buy beads... forget about it!

I bought my first digital hydrometer the other week. I got the cheapest one from a reputable cigar accessory vendor. It was 8 degrees off so the vendor said he would send me a new one, I wanted to upgrade so I paid a little more and got a $24.00 adjustable one. The adjustable works much better it is still a cheaper Chinese electronic but when I open the lid it changes by the minute, the other cheap one would take a few minutes to go up or down in degrees.
And it is nice not having to do math every time I look in my cigar box.

I might try the remote Oregon scientific one for my cooler when I get it set up.
