About a year ago, all I heard about were...

San Cristobal by Ashton - love them, too expensive to be in my normal rotation but I pick one up every once in a while.

Coronado by LFD - love them, split boxes with Double D.

El Centurion - Ok cigar, out of the 5 I've smoked only one rocked my socks, not worth the price in my opinion.

Now let me add one

nub - not impressed with these, they did not live up to the hype at all.

I just received my box of 100 Nubs for being a finalist - how many do you want? Seriously, what I am going to do with 100 Nubs? I can't wait for the $9.00 Padilla Nub to come out.

100 nubs? LOL sounds like a crap load (pun intended) of 5er bombs to me.

That would require 10 nubs per bomb.

Not when one nub = the tobacco of 1 churchill sized cigar or so they say... ;)

They why do they only last 30 minutes? ???

Could be because they taste so bad no one can smoke one for longer. ;)
What they said.....

I just wanted to add to this ridiculously long quote

I loved the couple El Centurion that I had.

San Cristobal's were and always will be the shizz.

Never had a Coronado...

San Cristobal by Ashton
Bought a box of the Guajiro's a little over a year ago. First two I had were so plugged they were barely smokable. Humi time hasn't hurt these at all. Still a tight draw but very smokable now. Flavor ranges from "really good" to "ehhh...whatever". Rather inconsistant, from what I've experienced. Buy another box? The last half of this box is really going to have to blow my shoes off to make that happen.

Coronado by LFD
Never had nor tried one. Can't comment.

El Centurion
Bought two boxes of the Emperadores when they came out. These have the thinnest wrappers I've ever seen on a cigar. First few out of the first box "blew up" when I smoked them. That is, the wrapper burst in multiple places as the cigar progressed. Really dissapointing. Figured they were seriously wet and left them alone for six months. Wrapper bursting issues went away, but the flavors never did anything for me. DP Blue Labels are one of my faves and these were flat and plain tasting in comparision. I sold my last box as 5-ers to guys that wanted to try them. Most guys absolutely loved them. Maybe my taster was (is?) broken, but they didn't do it for me. Buy another box? Pass on this one.

Regards - B.B.S.

The San Cristobal is still a hot cigar in store. The Coronados died down a bit, but it's a great smoke. I have to agree with Wurm, though. The NUB is the most overrated and disappointing cigar in recent memory. Anyone else feel this way?

I agree, the NUB I had was absolutely worthless.

I do enoy a San Cristobal every now and then still, but I was never a fan of the Coronado or el centurian.

I'm still a very big fan of the San Cristobal Guajiro and the Coronado Lancero both, i thought they were each excellent smokes!

I like the Coronado and El Centurions quite a bit, but seldom smoke them anymore . . . the price points are a bit high, and they didn't "Wow!" me all that much.

The San Cristobals, on the other hand---to echo and "me too!" most of the previous posters---are something else entirely. I've been through a full box of Guajiros and TWO full boxes of Fabulosos (one actual box, plus a box's worth by the fiver) already and am about to pull the trigger on a third. Love that deep espresso bean flavor!

On the Nubs, I've smoked a few . . . the 464T Cameroon wasn't bad; I think I've had about three of 'em now. But overall . . . yeah, overhyped.

San Cristobal
Like them, but not my go to by any means. Whenever I want that signature pepper on the back of my throat. I either go for some form of San Cristobal, or a Don Pepin Black Label.

Coronado by La Flor
I had a few of these that were just pure raw power, and kicked my ass. However, on the advice of Mark @ Tower, I bought a box of the Lancero. Perfect RG for that blend IMHO. Just the right balance of flavor and power. I love em.

El Centurion
Have a few, but never have made the time, or effort to smoke one yet.

The Coronado, San Cristobal and Centurion are all excellent smokes imo. I haven't had one of these yet in any vitola that wasn't great. They're not always in my rotation, but all definitely have a place in my humi.

I've only had one or two Nubs I was given at a show.... never had the desire to actually pay to add anymore to the collection.

San Cristobal definitely is in my rotation. My opinion of the Coronado by La Flor line has cooled somewhat, but I'll still grab one on occasion. I never really thought that much of the Centurion line of cigars.

I totally agree with John on this one. This Lancero is really spot on, and is almost a diffrent cigar all together. I would really reccomend them to anyone.

Not a fan of the San's, but they are not a bad smoke.

I have loved the couple Centruian I have smoked. I would rate them as 8.5's IMOP.

I also have to say I do not mind nubs. They will never be a favorite of mine, but I prefer them to any Rocky for instance, or to Dominican Romeo's or Monte's.

I think what is Hot now are rare Tats. Look at the Frank for example. I have not smoked one yet, but I wonder if Pete's lines will stay strong? I hope so. And, are boutique brands the new thing?

You were a finalist in what? I've never had a Nub you're just getting rid of some I'd like to taste one.

I loved the Coronado... still get them quite a lot.

The El Centurion needs much more time to calm down I think.

The San Cristobal line had a metallic aftertaste that I did not enjoy.

Nub was running a contest at 60 B&M's across the county. Each B&M had a winner and was a finalist for the grand prize - a Mini Cooper S Convertible with Nub graphics all over it. One finalist won the car, some won a year supply of Nubs (I am not sure how many that is) and the rest of the finalists won 100 Nubs.

San Cristobal is a permanent member in my humi.
Love 'em!

I haven't tried the others. Too much Pepin hype.
Some are good-xlnt, others don't do much for me.

Chemyst

Good Lord, 100!? The Habanos are alright, but I don't know what I'd do with 100 of them. That sounds like to much storage space.

The Coronado never worked for me, too inconsistent.

Wow, that is unusual to hear. I have smoked Litto's cigars for years and have never heard of quality problems. I'm not a fan of the Coronado's, bought some when they scored high a couple years ago and didn't really care for them. However, I've never heard of Litto having consistency issues. Can you elaborate?

For what it's worth: I've had one of the El Centurion, one of the Coronado, thought that each was very good - but out of my price range.

On the topic of Pepins, I had a 5 Vegas Miami petit corona gifted to me by Wilkey on NYE - clearly there was some time on it and it had been well stored, because it was excellent.
