The pass is on its way to Rochester, NY

DC# 0103 8555 7491 9534 0894

INS# VE 515 712 876 US

This pass is gonna pretty fast since some of the participants were in bunches. Fast and CCat met up at the herf. Styx and Kurt within driving distance of each other. Then at the end with PB and myself. It'll be awesome!

Well, UPS apparently tried to deliver it to me yesterday, but I missed them. Dunno how, because I was home all day but... I'm going to call them to see what the heck is going on, and how I can pick it up.

Sorry guys :/

Here's the deal. I've been extremely busy this week, working on getting a product released. I was home all day yesterday, but for some reason apparently I missed our postman, because later on I found this slip at my side door:

So I read the form over, and from what I could tell, they said they would be re-delivering it the next day. I signed the formed, checked the box that said to leave it, told them to leave it on the Porch, and taped it to the door:

Well, I got a number of packages today (mostly being inundated by dog rockets... ugh) including a package from Phil, sent via the USPS. However, I opened all of the boxes, and none of them are the pass.

The USPS web site for tracking this shipment isn't very helpful, it just says:

Here is what happened earlier:

ARRIVAL AT UNIT, January 28, 2004, 5:45 am, ROCHESTER, NY 14603
ELECTRONIC SHIPPING INFO RECEIVED, January 26, 2004

The "delivery" they are talking about must be them leaving me the slip. I tried calling them at 6:30pm, and there was no answer (they must be closed).

I'm not sure what's going on, but I'll call them tomorrow during normal business hours, and go there to pick it up if they are holding it at the post office there (gotta figure out where it is first, but that's no biggy).

I'll do a look around outside, there is a LOT of snow everywhere, so it might be hidden somewhere, but I really doubt it.

Sorry about this guys -- bad timing for me, and also it appears some oddness is going on too that I don't really understand. Didn't I fill the form out properly?

Looks like you did everything right to me Andrew. Just a bad day for the post office I guess. I've done the same thing with the notice and they left it the next day. And you should be able to reach USPS by the 800 number on the notice 24 hrs.

Well, I guess I can try the 800 number, but I'm betting they won't tell me anything more than the web site did (that's been my experience anyway). I'll try the local PO tomorrow.

Someone mentioned that if the package is insured, they can't leave it unless you are physically there to sign for it -- that would make sense. But it's curious why they didn't leave another attempted delivery notice with the other packages I got today.

Don't worry about it man, you'll find it. If they haven't screwed up in some way then the worst case scenario is it gets sent back to the sender. No big deal, just a delay. I'm sure you'll have no trouble tracking it down tomorrow.

They leave me insured stuff all the time without a signature. No big deal though. Short pass anyway, no big deal.
