TLDR: how much should a newbie with two jaridors (holds ~15-20 cigars a piece) spend on a decent humidor that can have scratches or dents and where should he start digging? If the answer is cheaphumidors then when do they typically post the damages humidor? Just care about good seals.
So, just joined recently to the forum. It is the first cigar related outlet I’ve ever joined. I started into cigars a few months ago and I am loving the experience and I look forward to the experience of a cigar twice a week (wife’s rules, happy wife happy life). At the beginning I purchased:
two amazon 13$ jaridors
Two bovida 69% packs
One jar is for flavored cigars (mainly a few coffee ones with Dominican coffee stores in there and another for my trials and samples.
So, my normal jaridor is starting to get a little crowded (my fault cause I am thirsty to try new cigars). MY QUESTION: how much should I spend on a new humidor?
I don’t care about knicks, scratches, etc. I just care about a good seal and good wood that won’t warp.
I know about cheaphumidors, but I never see anything under their discounted “abused” section. And I have no idea what a “good” humidor costs. I’ve seen them on amazon for 35$ and I’ve seen them on cheaphumidors for 70$.
I have ready a few posts about checking on eBay for humidors. But what should I look for to make sure I don’t get a box of sawdust?
Thanks!
P.s.- going to try the newbie trade soon as well!
