858 plus PASS

alright... put on my splunking hat and dug thru the humi last night. Good lord I have a ton of stogies!

proposed:

T: #2 Cohiba Corona Especiales 2001
P: Ramon Allones Exclusivo RE

T: #21 AF Don Carlos Lancero
P: Padron 1926 40th Anni maduro

T: #57 Davidoff Millennium Blend Lancero
P: Padron 1926 #1 maduro

P: AF BTL
P: Diamond Crown 110th Anni

and here's where I need assistance...

T: #50 Cohiba Esplendido '91
P: Taboada Gold Medal 2006

I cannot find anything on the Taboada except the initial posts where Seadub and atuck bought some and listed the prices... and they were outrageous! But if that is what to use, then... wow. But they also seem to have fallen from favor, or is it you just cannot get them anymore? Anyways, give me some input please! I'm kinda leery on this, and will have no problem removing it.

As soon as I get the info I can get it on the road.

My $.02 Jim.....An esplendido with that kind of age is extremely rare. '92s were going for ~$60 a piece back in Nov. last year. Not sure what the MV of the Taboada is, but I'd say a conservitive value on the Cohiba is around $60.

ok, thanks Mike, that helps! I failed to mention I did not find any Esplendido's with that much age either!! The only Taboada reference I found for the Gold Medal about put me into sticker shock! but even at the posted $1,000 per box of 20 that is still shy of the Esplendido, so it looks like I'll remove this from my grouping (I suspected that would happen)

Unless Gary comes back soon and says run with it (mmmmmm, saaaalmon spreeeeeead) I'll drop that and get it out in todays mail if I can make it in time. If not, first thing tomorrow.

ok - since I didn't put anything in the pass as far as information - here it is:

Value for Value - Age for Age - Rarity for Rarity : straight forward pass P/T's.

All within reason - ...etc.

As far as the taboada...if you have spread that old...you need to see a Dr.!

Thanks for playing, Jim!

Thanks for the input, Mike.

It can be difficult to judge just on price. There's also the "can you find it" factor!

Man, try and bribe a guy and he totally mis-reads it! Was gonna add soem spread in there to sweeten the deal!
I figured the pass rules, but couldn't get solid info on either the Taboada or the Esplendido. so my revised dealings are:

T: #2 Cohiba Corona Especiales 2001
P: #68 Taboada Gold Medal '06

T: #21 AF Don Carlos Lancero
P: #69 Padron 1926 40th Anni maduro

T: #57 Davidoff Millennium Blend Lancero
P: #70 Padron 1926 #1 maduro

P: #71 Ramon Allones Exclusivo RE
P: #72 Diamond Crown 110th Anni

thanks for having me Gary. Maybe I'll still send ya the spread...

ok... little problem. Had a minor emergency that needed my attention and just got done dealing with it, and missed the limited Saturday hours. Being as it's Memorial Weekend, the post office will not reopen until Tuesday, so unless the airport post office is still a 24/7/365 one, it'll go out on Tuesday.

Sorry all... an incident beyond my control but I'll see what I can do about getting it out ASAP.

Swissy, check your pm's for my current address.

I'm ready and waiting, I'll start putting together some puts and takes.

Ok... seems the posy office at the airport is open 6am-midnight 7 days a week.

so... gonna take a drive!

Did I get it right?
...

Yup! Looks right to me... was gonna post that after I just got back from the P.O. (It's away BTW)

Also, the box is starting to look a tad bit tatty. I would have changed it, but most places are closed and I didn't have a worthy replacement. Might be something to look into within the next few passers?

Pass arrived, I am going to crack it open momentarily as well as post my puts and takes.

Here's some puts and takes. This could potentially go out tomorrow, otherwise I can get it out on Monday. Time to go open the box now and inspect everything. :D

Take 24 AF Opus X PL 2007 Put 73 DCM Pyramid No. 3
Take 31 RyJ Exhibition No 3 2007 Put 74 Partagas Serie P No. 2 (’06)
Take 43 Bolivar Petit Corona 1998 Put 75 RyJ Hermosos No. 2 EL (’04)
Take 62. Casa Fuente CG Put 76 2005 Don Carlos GOF Robusto
Put 77 Sancho Panza Bachilleres (’98)
Put 78 Fuente King B (OR)

Box opened, everything looks to be in good condition. Inventory is spot on, didn't notice any cigars in rough shape. There were however a whole bunch of 858SG's in the bottom of the box that didn't show up in the inventory, so I went ahead and took them out so the box wasn't so heavy. ???

Also, I consolidated a couple bags and recharged the beads, they were quite dry.

Thanks for the check-up and thanks for playing!

Speaking of which....it's almost time for a contest.

Any suggestions?

I'm thinking photo...or motorcycle...or....golf? hmmmmmm.....

How about a contest for who has the best picture of their kid on a motorcycle? :sign:
