2007 came early!

Sweet Jesus!

I can't for the life of me figure out how the boat gets off the top rack, hmmmm...

  Wyatt, the boat is hydraulically hoisted up to
allow the car to drive underneath. When we launch, the car is
driven off, the boat is lowered which then becomes just like
a regular boat trailer. Trailer, boat and car weigh just under 11,000 Lb.

Keee-rist! Why bother to have a house?

Who said I had a house! ???

Brian

You've been waiting 5 years Swissy? I can see it now, the first time in the water will be just like that commercial, can't back the boat into the water, running into the dock...

Seriously though, nice boat!

Congrats, Swissy. Mighty sweet ride there. I hope you catch your limit every time out!

Nice get up you've got there too, Brian! :D

She's looking good Jim! She have a name yet or are you going to have an official "Name the Boat thread"?

Oh, before I forget, Brian, I am in Oceanside........I am a fair deck hand and love to drop a line in the water AND willing to bring the sticks as well! :whistling:

as far as the name, we were going to name our boat 'The College Fund' as the one we were planning on getting would have cost about the same - and since we have no kids and will not have any, it was going to be a fun thing that got people's attention.

But, this one is not that expensive, and therefore the name doesn't fit. And I won't be running a name contest/thread as Mary (a.k.a. The Wifely Unit©) is wanting to be involved... actually, since she's onboard with the purchase (ouch... bad pun) I basically am letting her name it. So far she's partial to the 'Swissy Baroo'...

Maiden voyage will be this week, weather depending. I wish I could say I had an awesome line of smokes picked out for the ride, but in reality my brother-in-law will be going out with me to assist, and he has bad asthma. I do not smoke around him in any way, shape or form. I will have some with me for other times, like the drive down (5-6 hours), sitting around their yard, walking the pups on the beaches, etc... CoRo, SLR 'A', RASS, PAM, Opus, HDM Petite Robusto, Trini Reyes & Fundi, Shark, Casa Fuente, and maybe a few other 'lesser' sticks! :whistling:

well,
it's fun! Been out on the new boat twice now, but the weather is not co-operating. Figures! But the 2 days we did get out (so far) have been a blast. She handles well, speeds along and is not too bad on fuel. Still, that initial 127 gallon fillup HURT!

First day was sunny and warm, but no salmon to be seen anywhere- not on the depthfinder, not jumping on the surface and most certainly not in the fishbox onboard. :(

Second day we went out for halibut, and did well. I didn't go out as far as I could have, for the big ones, as I'm still getting a feel for this thing. But we did end up getting three full limits of 30# halibut. Nice tasty size, but I still want a barn door variety! Ride in got a little bumpy as we ran into some 4 foot seas and whitecaps... boat handled it great. Owner/captain was a little apprehensive at first tho!

all in all, I'd have to give this a...

TWO THUMBS UP!

if the weather holds, the report for monday and tuesday will allow for us to make the long run for the big fish... more updates as they happen! I have till Wedesday to get that big one landed...

oh yeah... nice selction of smokes being enjoyed, although onshore. LFD Double Ligero lancero(?), another CoRo, WOAM, and a Anejo #77 'Shark' (how fitting...)

Wow I need to find some places to fish to get a catch like that. Hate living in the Midwest. I can't wait I'm getting my new bot in Jan. so for now I'm motoring around in a 16.5 ft. tri hull MFG Daisy with a Chrysler 45 hp motor. Boat hardly gets out of its own way.

Brian if you don't mind me asking what was the price for a trailer like that? Thats pretty much what I'm going to have to end up getting.

Nice catch Jim. What a pleasure catching fish on your own boat. :)

Brian if you don't mind me asking what was the price for a trailer like that? Thats pretty much what I'm going to have to end up getting.

Trailer was $22,000. Only one company in the US make a trailer like this, they are situated in Paxton Nebraska.

ok... last pic (unless we hit the salmon! )

todays catch- well, one of them at least. the others are still int he fish hold.

our rather fiesty 80# halibut... this sucker took awhile to get in. Every time it would see the bottom of the boat, it would head back down to the bottom- all 120ft of it.

sure tasted good!

That has to be a blast to catch. Housing cheap in Alaska I just might have to move up there. LOL Yea wifey would kill me.

ok... I guess one more! Since we got into salmon today...

Holy shit!

Alaska is the place to be. Well, Alaska and a good fishing guide :)

Looks like you are having fun.

Tight lines.
