2006 Volvo S60 T5 vs 2008 Honda Accord EX-L

I've got a soft spot for Honda.

My son has a 2003 with 65,000 miles, out of warranty. Tranny went, he had it towed to a dealer that we had never used before. Long story short, Honda paid for the towing and paid 100% for a brand new tranny and 100% labor.

The Honda rep personally called me and stated"we make a quality car and after 65,000 miles warranty or not you should not need a tranny".

Go with Honda!

2008 Honda Accord EX-L 4 cyl.
around 26,500.

2006 Volvo S60 T5
40,xxx miles on it. they have it listed at $28k with warranty.

I'll ask you something that I've always wondered. Why would you pay MORE for a used car than you would a brand new one? :whistling:

I wouldn't. that one is the one they have at the dealership here in town. I was saying that it had 40,000 miles on it and they still wanted $28,000 for it.

The one I was looking at only had 14,700 miles and could get it thru my buddy for $23,400

Can you turn a wrench? If so, most of the maintenance you can do yourself. At that point you are only really paying for repairs. I have an old S40 Turbo. For a four banger that's rated at 160 horses, it is quicker than a lot of new rice burners. I love my Volvo.

that makes more sense then.

Both are nice cars but I have (as the father of young twins as well) to ask is this going to be the "family car" or your day to day drive?

We had a '01 Camry when our kids were little and getting someone in the back between the car seats was a pain in the ass as well as uncomfortable for road trips.
We held out getting another "family/wife" vehicle until the new Honda Odyssey came out. One of the best automobile decisions we have made.
