Eagle Rare vs Russell's Reserve single barrel

I missed an opportunity to let him hear about it when my Braves took them out in ‘21. Maybe next year!

Eagle Rare vs Russell's Reserve single barrel

Finding Weller 12 for $40 is insanely lucky. I have two bottles of Weller Antique 107 that I got from a Kroger in Toledo for just over $40. That’s about the right price for that one, but I’ve never seen Weller 12 for less than $80. Also…good to talk to you again!

    Big thanks to cabaiguan juan!

Last week I saw a post in the Spirits forum where @cabaiguan juan mentioned the practice of adding a few saline drops to whiskey as a flavor enhancer. I'm a big whiskey guy, but I had never heard of such a thing. When I mentioned I'd like to try that, Jon graciously offered to send some saline...

    Hows your weather?

Working just outside of Philadelphia this week (I spend about two weeks out of every month here) and I had to scrape frost off of my windshield in the hotel parking lot this morning. Wasn't thrilled about that.

Apologies for being a little self-indulgent...

It's already there! Search for "Cigars and Whiskey" by Eric Shaw. I've got 5 other releases on all of the streaming sites as well: "Chattanooga" "At Least You Left Me A Song" "Goin' Out On Top" "Devil In The Desert" (<--This one is more rock than country) "Famous On The Weekend"

Eagle Rare vs Russell's Reserve single barrel

I am admittedly a BT fanboy. I've acquired many bottles of Blanton's, ER, EHT, Weller, etc. over the years (none since I moved to Virginia), but I only buy them when I can get them at MSRP so those are obviously few and far between. The only exception to that was a bottle of Blanton's Straight...

The Dailey Jam Session 2023 (Post the sound vibrations that pair with your smoking pleasure)

My Dad used to play Dr. Hook in the car all the time when I was a kid. I still occasionally bust out “Cover of the Rolling Stone” during acoustic gigs.

I hate that for you. We had to put down our dog Gabi last Saturday. I just remind myself that we wouldn’t be so sad when they leave us if they didn’t make us so happy while they are here. Sending good vibes your way.

What Mixed Drink Are You Enjoying Today!

Never heard of adding saline drops to whiskey before, but now I have to try it.

    Water heater help?

If you live in an area with hard water, you definitely want to do it semi-regularly. I lived in Indianapolis (very hard water) for 15 years and flushed mine every 3-4 months. If you don't, sediment will build up and can blow out your lower heating element (if it's an electric heater, can't...

    Saved some money today

In high school I worked at a grocery store. We got busted selling beer to someone underage (somebody else did it, not me), and the manager made a rule after the fact that everyone buying alcohol and tobacco gets carded, no exceptions. If you didn't enter the date of birth in the register, it...

Apologies for being a little self-indulgent...

Forgot to add, thank you for the compliments! I wrote the lyrics while sitting at a cigar bar that had a very impressive bourbon selection (I travel a ton for my job, so I don't even remember where it was). When writing the music, I just wanted it to sound like a song I'd want to listen to...

Apologies for being a little self-indulgent...

Songwriting and vocals are me. Bass guitar is my bandmate Tracy McKee. Harmonica is my Dad, Eric Sr. All other instruments and all of the production are by my bandmate Bobby McKee. Bobby was a professional session and touring guitarist in Nashville for over 20 years (played with some very...

    What pets do you have?

Meet Strider. Fourteen months old, 90 pounds, and does not care that that hard plastic ball was not technically a chew toy.

Interesting (to me) cigar revenue fact

Many years ago I used to work in a cigar store. We'd often have younger people come in asking what cigar they should get. I'd ask them "well, which ones have you had that you liked?". If they answered "Swisher Sweets" (which happened a lot), I'd say "Every cigar I have is better than a...

Apologies for being a little self-indulgent...

...but I released a song a couple of months ago that may be pertinent to some people's interest here. It's called "Cigars and Whiskey" (if you don't like country, you may not like it). It's available on all of the streaming music services, but it can also be found for free on YouTube. If...
