Yes, the large sheets are from the inside of Habanos boxes. I also steamed off several stickers and warranty seals. It's a lot more work than I ever thought.

I used a coffee can and some old cigar boxes. But after seeing Souldog's table I decided to make one of my own. But how many bands will it take? I'm almost out after saving for three years!

Seems to be a pretty sophisticated system coming from a place known to screw up simple stuff like forgetting to put bands on cigars before shipment. I wonder what will happen "when this is Cuba" has to deal with modern technology?

Austin ain't bad, and it certainly isn't too expensive, especially south Austin. Rents in decent apts from 500-600 and cheap houses to rent if he wants a room mate. Night life here is, in a word weird.

Sheesh, Andrew. Why do you have to be so damned reasonable all the time? :D One point that you brought up is rarely discussed; if you don't know the person buying/selling cigars, then don't be so quick to sell/buy cigars from said person. This ain't Ebay folks.

Regarding a vendor, I'd say yes. The issue arising here is when a vendor interacts as a member (conducting personal trades with members at another board). Which appears to have happened over at ICC. There's a reason why there's a scumbag list which doesn't specifically speak to any one...

Yeah, the outlook is hopeful. My box is dated, from Oct 06. I'll have to pick up some newer examples and see if quality has improved.

My box of PL panatelas is also marked "totalmente a mano" and after smoking through the entire thing I can say with confidence that these were a long way from being long filler cigars. "Totalmente a mano" was stamped on boxes of MM cigars erratically from the mid-1990s to the present. There...

The cigars aren't truly "handmade," rather machine bunched and hand finished, meaning only the wrapper is applied by hand. This is why the ash is weak. The leaves aren't long-filler or short-filler, but a mix of mid-range leaves. The majority of "machinemade" Cuban cigars made the change to...
