So I'm going to be heading out to Vegas in early March for a short vacation. Where are some places that I should definitely visit while I'm there? Any places to definitely avoid? Any shops that are better than others? Any B&M's that I absolutely have to hit up? I've been trying to look at different sites online, but it seems as if hotels and attractions write their own reviews on there, so there's a lot to sift through.

Beatles "Love" is a must, if you ask me.

x2 and the blue men group.

I have been to vegas a total of 9 times in my life time, and those are the top performances IMO. You can go to the Rio for a free show, I think it goes on the main lobby every 2 to 3 hours. (best free show in vegas). Oh yeah dont forget to get in some history, head downtown, and watch the light show and swing in Lady Luck for 25 cent Min blackjack.

I don't even know where to begin.

Casa Fuente for Dinks and overpriced HTF Cigars.

Places to smoke.

Center Bar at the Planet Holywood
Napoleans at Paris.. Dueling pianos.
Dueling Piano Bar at Harrah's
Seahorse Lounge at Ceasars (nice eye candy next to pussy cat dolls lounge)
parasol Up at Wynn

Definately Check out any Cirque Du Soleil show. Make sure to get tickets well in advance for best seat choices.
I have seen all of them in Vegas with the exception of Khris Angels new one at the Luxor.

Beatles show Love as a Cirque Du Soleil show is bad. But as a "SHOW Experience" I thought it was one of my top 5 shows I have ever seen. Especially the music along with the cool visuals. A definate must watch.

Dining... so many choices.
Be sure to check out as many places as you can afford..

Gotta agree. As an overall show, with the music, it's a great experience.

If you like 80's Rock, definitely go check out Steel Panther playing at the green valley ranch. they play every Friday, concert starts at 12, and it's free. We go every week.

It's not jsut some crappy cover band, they are an epic cover band, all decked out in the 80's style of the hairbands, and the show is funny as hell. If you want to see a kick ass show and have a rockin' good time, check em out.

Did I mention it's free? It's 21+ though, because they serve alcohol inside the venue.

check em out

I'm all excited to go on friday now...

Lady Luck has been closed for a few years. If you make it downtown Binion's has a sexy cowgirl pit. $5 shoe game with typical Vegas rules.

For remodeling, from what I understand. I would of thought it would be open by now.

Edit: forgot a letter.

You definitely need to go to Freemont street. That is the overhead light show. BUT, to the right at the start of the walk of lights is a B&M. The owners name is George. I call him Jorge. He has good prices and a good selection... Have fun.

All my Vegas info is dated so it may no longer exist but if you happen to be at the Luxor and would like a sandwich, the Nile Deli near the sports book had a brisket on a Pretzel Roll that will change your life.

When I go to Vegas, I go from Poker Room to Poker Room and only do touristy stuff unless I am dragged kicking and screaming away from the Poker Table.

I know you can fire automatic weapons and do indoor skydiving over a giant fan. Supposedly the Pinball Museum is much better than it sounds.

My favorite part of going to Vegas is Sedona, AZ but it isn't a day trip from Vegas.

There are more world class restaurants in Vegas than any similar size city in the world so if you are serious about food, you can get a serious fix. Pretty much any chef that is anybody, has a restaurant in Vegas.

One thing about Vegas is no matter how much you plan and try to organize your trip, all those plans will fall apart the minute you set foot on the strip.

If it is your first trip you will find that there is so much to see and do that sensory overload will rule the day (and night).

Casa Fuente is a definite must as is the Forum Shops and the Grand Canal shops in the Venetian (there is an overpriced Davidoff store in the Venetian).

There is also a Davidoff store in the MGM Grand downstairs on the west side of the casino level.

I am headed to Vegas in early March too. Thanks for the suggestions!!! I like the rides at the top of the Stratosphere - the later in the day the better!!!

I forgot something.

One thing about Vegas, the buildings are so large that you perception of distance will be off by a considerable margin. You will look down the strip and say something like "That isn't very far away, I'll just walk." and about a mile later you begin to realize, it is much farther than it appears.

Regardless you will walk your wheels off because it is a long way across most of the casinos and probably a pretty good haul from your hotel room to the parking garage.
