I've been looking for an excuse to open a couple of new bottles of scotch, Glengoyne 17, Balvenie 21 Port Wood & Macallan 17 Fine Oak to name a few. I also have a small bottle of Glenrothes distilled the year my soon to be 21 year old son was born just waiting to be christened. (1987)

I'll be doing a group tasting of the 12, 15 & 20 year old's from the Pappy Van Winkle line just after New Years in Las Vegas with a few friends.

Other than that I hope to make a batch of that George Washington Egg Nog AVB posted about tomorrow night for our little poker gathering.

How about you?

I have 4 of the 5 BTAC releases, and a second bottle of the Stagg one. I've been sampling them, aaaah, heavily and the Stagg and the Sazerac 18 are clear favorites.

Also picked up a bottle of that Sam Adams Chocolate Bock, and a sixer of Shiner's '08 Julbier, "Holiday Cheer." Haven't cracked either of those yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

I did finally get the Handy yesterday to complete the '08 BTAC set and a Woodford Sweet Mash as long as I was there. Now I gotta pay for this stuff once the Amex bill hits :p

I'm looking to unwrapping my new 14' All-Clad skillet on Christmas eve and sautéing a mess of shrimp and de-glazing the pan with wine.

Doc.

I've got a 14" Calphalon Commercial pan that that will hold a bunch of shrimp (or 3lb of bacon) so I know you'll be feasting pretty hard there Doc.

I always look for ward to the Samuel Smiths winter welcome every year. I picked up a four pack Friday but I bet I'll be back for more.

On AVB's, as well as others, recommendation I picked up my first bottle of single malt scotch.... Balvenie Doublewood 12 yr. Also very much looking forward to the Westy 12 and some homemade coquito!
