First Snow of the Season

I love South Texas. Well, except in summer, when we all retreat indoors and crank up the A/C until the heat breaks.

It's actually snowed here once since I moved down, a few years ago. First time in 30 years!

Back in Spokane, WA, there was one winter just before I moved to Texas where we got about six FEET of snow in six weeks. Snowed every day. I'd get up in the morning, and my car would be plowed in . . . dig it out, go to school/work, come back, dig out a new parking spot, and the next morning . . . do it all over AGAIN. For six straight weeks. There were cars just up the hill from me that weren't seen again till spring.

The climate here has its drawbacks, but at least you don't have to shovel humidity. :D

Boar,

You have no idea how much I miss Texas. Grew up on the Coast as well.

But, the beer helps make up for the fact that I am not home.

This was my ride into work this morning. It was snowing heavier before I took the picture.

Thanks for reminding me why I love it here in TX and I really do not miss shoveling the snow the ice patches getting stuck and stranded in a blizard. ;) :p

Been light snow here on and off all day, only enough to coat the grass, but too warm to really lay on the cement and asphalt. But up north heading towards the Great Lakes it's been a white out I believe.

Saddle up with a good smoke and a Winter Warmer for this is only the beginning boys ...

Justin,

Not sure how much to expect. I am told not much, and that it does not last.

The Westy keeps ya nice and warm....

We already have 6 inches and are supposed to get 6 more tonight. i hate winter. can't wait to move south.

Thank goodness I read the thread title again, otherwise this is the filthiest post I've read in awhile! ;)

John what's that white stuff in your picture? I can't see anything! What's snow? :p

We actually had some this year in MARCH!!

Damn southerners!!!

Just kidding. Nothing but love, Jeff. Nothing but love.

I know how bad it gets up your way. I have family in Warren, PA...

Oddly enough, though, we actually got a fair amount of snow down this way.... Well, a fair amount for Delaware... ;-)

This was lake effect stuff. Lake's nowhere near frozen, so we'll keep getting it for a while.

And I'm very familiar with Warren. Next time you're in the neighborhood...
