Tomorrow is my one year anniversary of being a member of this great forum. I was introduced by my buddy SACK who I met during a trip to the Dominican Republic to visit the General Cigar operations. We have been long distance pals ever since. In celebration of my anniversary (as many of you have done) I have decided to give away some smokes. This contest is only open to newbies (those having been a member for one year or less). The first newbie to answer the questions correctly gets a little gift package. Nothing fancy guys... just a cool little sampler I picked up. I will tell you that the package is autographed by the cigar maker. Enjoy and thanks for allowing me to be apart of this great cigar smokers community. Many of you have become true brothers!

4.he La Gloria Cubana brand was created in 1885 by the Sociedad Cabañas y Castro, then bought twenty years later in 1905 by José F. Rocha, who manufactured the brand from his factory at 364 Miguel Street in Havana. After Rocha's death in 1954, the Cifuentes family bought both La Gloria Cubana and Bolivar from Rocha's former company. Production was moved to the Partagás Factory, where it's still produced today, and became very popular as an export brand.

After the Revolution, it seems that production of La Gloria Cubana ceased for several years, until around 1965 when the brand was apparently resurrected at the Partagás Factory. It is produced in smaller quantities than other brands and maintains its popularity with connoisseurs, the Médaille d'Or No. 2 being a particularly prized vitola.

La Gloria Cubana also produces two machine-made cigarillos: the Mini and the Purito.

Yeah well I originally thought that, the first Carlos Fuente was the one in the 1900s that was cuban born, but then I remebered that there is a Carlos Fuente Jr. So It would of made it impossible for the father of Carlos Fuente to carry that name because, that would be 3 generations back not 2. Damn..... SR Jr, to damn confusing for me, even though I am a Jr. Myself :laugh:

After getting a PM from Sweetrice, I realize my question number 5 may have been a little confusing. When I said Sr. I meant the father, the eldest of the Fuente clan. So that's my bad. Here's what I am going to do. I will give the original prize to Sweetrice for his initial post and PM regarding the confusion. I will also give a consolation prize to The Green Monkey.
