I wear polos a lot for work. After a while though, the collars tend to loose their shape and the tips of the collar (by my collar bones) tend to 'float up', or curl up at the points. For you guys who where polos alot and have run into this before, what do you do to keep your polo collars in place?

Iron them.

True story: A few years ago when I was working at the Tinder Box, some kid with his collar flipped up walked in front of the counter with his back to me. At the time, I was unaware of the whole "popped" collar nonsense, so I assumed he didn't know his collar was that way. Being the nice guy that I am, I reached over the counter and flipped his collar down. He looked at me flabbergasted, so I said "your collar was flipped up." He said "yeah, I know" and flipped it back up. I guess I'm the idiot.

What's depressing to me is that at the ripe old age of 27, all I do is sit around counting my ever-increasing grey hairs and complaining about young people. At this rate, I'll be a full-fledged curmudgeon by thirty. Now get off my lawn.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Sad part is, one of my best friends(and Iraqi war vet) looks exactly like this kid and dresses like him, haha

i have ironed them, but i guess the starch is the key ingredient
Heat, whether moist or dry will cause them to curl...the addition of a little (light) starch will then level them out...but remember, a cool/warm iron. On the iron scale, a hair into the 'Steam' area. First iron the collar and get it nice and smooth. Then you apply the starch, don't iron the piss out of it...just pass it quickly over the collar to set it in place...then allow it to cool before taking it off the ironing board...a few seconds.

OK Juan, Mommy has to go now to the store to pick up something for dinner, will you be alright alone at home?....

Wash em inside out. Store them, or hang them inside out as well.

Wasn't you that told me all the young kids in pink polos with the collar flipped up looked like "Gay Elvis's"?

Take them to the cleaners and let them do it. :whistling: ;)

I take mine to the cleaners with my suits, shirts and slacks. Some are well over a year old (or more) and still look new. However, if you do not want the cost then the starch and iron suggestion above will work too.
