Michigan Cigar Shops

I have done some searchs online but I respect what you guys say so I figured Id ask here.

The guys that live in Michigan, what shops, lounges, anything do you guys go to? Looking for a decent place with good people.
 
Being from 'cross the border, there's people here better qualified than I, but I go to JRs directly north of you once in a while, usually to the Cigar Wharehouse on Big Beaver in Troy (great place) and at times I'll go to Smokers Outlet on 10 Mile out close to 94.
 
PM, some time. We can have a smoke up at Trumps or rosavelts and chat.

EDIT: to add or hell I am at 8/tuck just come buy for a smoke....LOL
 
It's been a while, but last time went home to visit I went to a shop in Birmingham (15 and Woodward). Haven't been home in a while though. (nearly 2 years)

At 6 and Middlebelt is a Smokers Depot. Great selection. Kinda pricey, no where to smoke, but a fantastic humidor. Also Trader Tom's. 43249 7 Mile Rd, Northville.

Never been in a strip club that would not let you smoke a cigar. If you choose to do more than that it is on you.

Trader Tom's is a nice place, good cigar lounge as well.

I would stay away from Cigar Emporium, in Farmington. Found LOTS of mold on his stock.
 
Cant go to a strip club without haveing fun :)

I think I am going to check out Trader Toms soon, BUT my first purchase will be through a Newbie Trade. I just want to go into a place and build a relationship, plus my buddy who is currently getting his humidor seasoned wont buy online. He will only buy face to face.
 
I go to Sues Coffee in Saint Clair. They have a great selection, wonderful atmosphere, and decent prices. They also serve some pretty decent wine, that the owner makes himself.
 
This is a good website that has just started up for this kind of info (not just MI, but nationwide).

It is run by another Chris who lives in Michigan. I have no involvement other than adding 3 of my favorite bar/restaurants to smoke in.

My local B&M, which seems to have a lot of variety and so on is a little pricey, but has the selection. They have a website, and a really cool name ... La Casa de la Habana

I'm not exactly sure which place you mean. But assuming you mean LCdlH, it is right on Ann Arbor Trail. If you are traveling east on Ann Arbor Trail, you'll see the front of the store on the right just like on the website. It is at the intersection of Forest (which basically looks like a parking lot between two strip malls).

Also, it is often kind of polite to introduce yourself in the Introductions area, just so we know who we are talking to.

If out in Southfield, you guys should check out Churchills on 12 mile and telegraph, its new, though its not the biggest place, its nicely layed out. Leather seats in the little smoking area...flat screens and free water if you want..its pretty cool imo.
 
tpc-That's just down the street from JR's. Good to know, thanks! Jr's is a stand and smoke kind of place. Nice though. It's a ½ block South of 12 mile on Northwestern. Also there's Lil Havana on Orchard Lake just South of Maple in Bloomfield Hills. it's small but a good place to sit and smoke.
 
Ahh yes, it is very close to JR's. Not quite the cigar selection that JR's has, but it is nice to sit and relax. They also have a ton of accessories if you like to look at that kind of stuff, and seem to be a bigger selection of that stuff than at JR's.

They recently moved out some rotating display cases they had in the middle of the store, to make room for a couple of chess tables and chairs, which i thought was a nice touch as well. If you get a chance, let me know what you think....I've found everyone there to be very friendly.
 
Chess tables, eh? Sounds like a good place to hang out. LMK if you are going to spend an hour or so there, I might be able to come on down. Stogies are on me.

I'm in Michigan 3 weeks out of the month usually with work. One of my favorite shops to hit is Cabana Club in West Bloomfield. They have a great selection, good people, and a great area. Mike, the owner is very welcoming and helpful. Smoky's in Ann Arbor is another great shop. Lucas has an excellent selection and a nice little lounge with great regulars. I'll be in Michigan next week as well. Hit me up and let me know what area your in and maybe we can meet for a smoke.
