So it is no secret I love pretzels and water while smoking cigars, the occasional Welchs Grape soda in the bottle is awesome also. However I was curious if you guys eat or munch on anything while enjoying a cigar you normally smoke. I will admit if it is a new smoke to me or a special cigar I only drink water while smoking just so I can get the true flavor.

Also wanted to know if anyone takes the smoke in and exhales through the nose, alot of cigar blenders use this to get a feel for the tobacco. I tend to do it about 3-5 times per cigar at different points just to taste the difference.

I really like to drink English Breakfast Tea with a cigar. As far as snacks go, I'm never too picky. But cigar comes before snack. If the two don't mix, the snack has got to go.

I am curious to hear responses on this one as I don't normally eat while I smoke. My drinks vary from spirits to coffee, water or Coke. I do not inhale the smoke but I do push the remaining fourth or so through my nose to pick up more flavor almost every puff. I have found that certain foods really taint my palette, sometimes for hours, so I shy away from eating. I guess something bland like pretzels wouldn't bother me though.

I occasionally enjoy fine chocolate with a cigar. I am into the bittersweet darks and chocolate covered espresso beans.

Soda wise, Dr. Pepper or Orange Crush sometimes- but mostly coffee.

Question 2- Like the gentleman above, I push a small amount through the nose on most puffs.

A search could turn up some results for this question. :D

You took the words right out of my mouth! And, it doesn't have to be an expensive chocolate to be exquisite with a cigar. I prefer Dove's Miniatures. There are even health benefits connected to eating dark chocolate.

I love drinking my new-to-me Gold Coffee Beans coffee made in our new coffee grinder/maker that our friends in Florida turned me on to last week when smoking a stick.

I'll drink this with a cigar:
Beer
Diet Coke
Wine (merlot, pinot, cab)
Water with a squeeze of lemon or lime

As for eating with a cigar, not something I typically do. However, I will munch on typical bar snacks once in awhile.

If I really like the cigar, I'll exhale through my nose a couple times. For those who have never done this, you DO NOT need to inhale in order to exhale through your nose. I've tried to teach several people this "trick", but they just don't get it. :D

I like big beers with my cigars. Imperial stouts, Belgian Strong Dark Ales, and Barleywine especially. I stay away from anything really hoppy with cigars though as they tend to overpower the cigar in my experience.

I don't typically eat anything while smoking, but one of Cory's buddies in Boise introduced me to mixed nuts warmed up in the over. That's about the best thing, snack wise, that I've eaten with cigars.

I love chips and guacamole/salsa with any cigar oddly enough.....but I'm addicted to it without a cigar anyways. Intense Dark Ghiradelli Chocolate is very nice as well.

I generally don't eat or drink anything while smoking..... I don't want nothing coming between me and my sticks. For me, I generally find that anything besides water affects the true taste of the cigar. Occasionally maybe coffee, beer or a cocktail. I never blow through my nose and as for inhaling.... just very slightly. When I take a puff of the cigar, I blow out most of the smoke and inhale just a bit. This way I find I get the full, true flavor of whatever stick I'm smoking. ;)

A search for 'retrohale' will give more detail on this technique. I think it is the best way to taste what the hell we're smokin.

I like smoking ribs, chowing down, and lighting up (my wife doesn't like ribs or cigars so it's sort of like a mini-vacation for me  ). Of course, I haven't done that for awhile, but hopefully soon.

Diet Coke, H2O, and iced tea are good, but coffee is my favorite drink with a smoke. What I drink sometimes depends on what I'm smoking.

I usually like to smoke a little while after I eat, so no food while puffing away. While smoking, I stick with ice water with maybe a little lemon, and either orange soda, root beer, or coffee afterwards, depending on the stick.

Favorite drink with my gar's........ Root Beer Freeze from Tastee Freeze!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Delicious!!!

Drinks that go good with cigars

Beer (Dark mostly)!
Black Cherry Soda
Rootbeer
Iced Tea (non sweetened)
Apple Cider

Snacks I'll munch on while smoking a cigar

Smoked Cheese on crackers
Smoked Almonds
Chocolate Covered Almonds
Salted Mixed Nuts
Sour-dough pretzels
BBQ Potato Chips

Meals I like to eat while smoking...

Anything off the grill but mostly:

German Bratwurst with home-fries and sauerkraut
Beefsteak
Ostrich Steak
Venison Kabobs
Lamb Cutlets

As fas as exhaling through my nose... it triggers my gag reflex. So I don't do it.

*edit* I have been known to pull the smoke back into my nose, stoner style. That doesn't bother me at all :p
