Just read a thread on another well respected board. That a sampler of Lancero's will be coming out. Any one else heard something like this??

I had heard about this in Chicago at the DP event. I am glad to see if saw the light of day.

Wonder how they decide how many each shop gets etc?? Reminds me of Fuente.. Makes sense though.. Christmas time with limited addition stuff as a thank you to there customers.. Kind of cool really..

You order them, they send you what you ask for. It's limited in only the time it will be available. Doesn't remind me of Fuente at all! They decide what they want to send you(which is never enough)and send it. It's like everything else this time of year, everybody wants that hot, seasonally available product but don't have the slightest f-ing clue as to how limited it is. They call asking for this product and then get pissed when you tell them that you don't have them or that you don't sell that product to anyone that isn't local(yeah, I got enough people to take a triple shipment of stuff from Fuente without selling it out of state). My favorite call is when they ask for say Anejos. I tell them that they are sold out and then they ask if we can order some more in! Most of this product is more of a hassle than what it's worth.











Bah humbug!!! (The Pepin Lanceros should be an awesome gift pack, we got 15 of them coming :thumbs: )

It'd be worse if they didn't call at all, though, eh? :) I'd say "No, we don't know when (or if) we're getting those in, but we do have this fantastic sampler from Don Pepin..."

I'm looking forward to the Don Pepin Lancero sampler as well... glad to see it's coming.

Wow, what a drag to have a product that sells out before it arrives....has to make you wonder why you bother..... :whistling: Try sitting on this side of the aisle.

No offense, Brad, but the truth is a lot of us never see 'em in our local B&M's at all.

I always love to get some Anejos / Opies at holiday time and rarely see them. Used to have a local B&M that got Opies in three or four times a year but they haven't seen any in over a year. They'd let their good customers know they were in and they'd sell you two per vitola, per day, at retail. Always struck me as the fair way to ration out these hard to find smokes.

It's one of those things you have to take care of the people that support your day to day! I get a pay check because of these people! I would rather not have this product! I feel shitty when I can't take care of someone that I know will appreciate these cigars more that some of the people that will get to buy them and not have a clue as to what they have purchased!
 
Brad, to be very clear, I wasn't coming down on you or The Outlaw at all. Only point is that there's "pain" from the consumer's perspective, as well.

Oh, now Tom, I never took it that way! I sucks all the way around! My understanding this year(season) should be very good to the consumers. More than likely we will get a double shipment from Fuente on the Christmas goodies! Heavy on the Anejos!
 
Well, thats very good. Quite a bit cheaper than I was anticipating for this box!
 
For all the North Texas BOTL....

I called TR and talked to Jim by way of Allen...He said his order has gone in for these but he's not sure when he'll get them....If someone wants to split one whenever they come in let me know... ;)
