NEW IDEA! Stock Market Group investment

Sirius - SIRI - is a great opportunity. We are heading into the highlight selling season for this gift giving item. This leads to 4th qtr activations and new subscriptions going through the roof. Over the last 2 yrs - Sirius has outpaced XM, merger movement continues in the right direction, and overall profits continue to rise. I leave it to the masses, but a 100 shares at 3 bucks for a 60-90 day run may be good.

Another choice that someone else mentions was LEVEL 3 - LVLT
The stock has taken a beating lately and is hovering around 3 bucks a share also. Turn around and the ability to keep forging forward are in line for LVLT. This I see as a little bit of a longer hold - 6 months minimum

Scott

edit - this is pure speculation, Neal hit it on target - this will be more about the sharing and fun than the profits fellas

I just want to publically say that I understand the risk here and trust mike. I have some stocks and mutual funds of my own and look at this as a sort of football pool. If anyone has never done this though Neals points are valid. Mike thanks for covering me it should be there any time letters sometimes take a couple weeks but not always.

How many of the investors have smoked a $20+ cigar, perhaps a $30+ cigar or the universe forbid, a $40+ cigar.

Too many, if you ask me. This way my money will last a little longer..............hopefully.

The thing is stock is nothing like a football pool. In fact stock is often compared to gambling and thats not true either. Many people become rich from stock. Not to many people become wealthy from gambling. Stock has a solid plan to follow for long term wealth thats fairly simple and also the short fast route thats intense trading and more like the gambling. If you get into the quick buck without some longterm investment your a fool. Well except here where its more fun.

Bullcrap!

You bet that the stock will go up or down. Game, set, match!

$40 bucks to have a good time with some friends, and make some new ones seems like a "slamdunk" to me. I am in it to have a good time and learn a few things. If we blow it we will at least have the stories. Thanks for coming up with the idea and getting things running; we should have a good time.

I like the possibility of Sirius. I think it could really do well this Christmas season. Toodles Biatches

OH, and don't let Neal rain on our fun. We are going straight through the roof! :D I think we need to hurry and decide what smokes we are going to buy with all this money!! :sign:

If everyone likes siri, then we'll wait for a pull back to around 3.25 or so. How does 100 shares sound? That'll be $325 or so. Can't say exactly because we don't know the exact buy price. It's about 3.35 now. If the merger goes through. It should go up 2x approx. I say around $6. But I;m just guessing. Anyone have a different take?

Please chime in. Even if you are not in on the LEAF FUND.

I'm all for the SIRI buy. I think price will increase well and merger will go.

On a possible 2nd buy - - -

Here's some encouraging news about Level 3.
Report from BARON's

Buyers on the Level 3 Playing Field

WHILE SHARES OF LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS languishing near lows, two directors have snapped up more than one million shares of the telecommunications and information-services company.

On Thursday, director Douglas Eby purchased 1,005,000 shares totaling $3 million, or an average of $3 a share, through a limited partnership. He continues to hold 4,397,200 shares indirectly through the limited partnership and a limited liability company. He owns 39,644 shares directly.

A day earlier, director Michael Mahoney bought 30,000 shares for $92,700, or $3.09 apiece. He continues to hold 89,644 shares of the Broomfield, Co.-based company.

Very encouraging
