Hey all,

I am a n00b but in the time that i have been smoking I have found that I really enjoy the heavy, spicy cigars. I absolutley enjoy the la flor dominicana double ligero chisel and the camacho corojo's are becoming a staple in my daily smoking routine. I am looking for other heavy duty cigars and it would be even better if they had some spice to them. I am talking about cigars that can put you on your butt like the camacho's. (another one I smoked yesterday was a Rico Habano and that packed quite a punch)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a secondary question I am an opus x lover , like everyone else and I was wondering if there was a cigar that is as spicy at a much lower price point? again spicy with the addition of a heavy smoke would be even better but not necessary.

Thanks so much!

Kelly

Sounds like the Joya de Nicaragua Antano is right up your alley.
Good Call I should have added that I like those as well!! :)

Any others?

It seems that this kind of cigar is the hardest to get reccomendations for.......

Nothing really tops LFD L Cabinets (oscuro natural), and DLs in terms of heavy and spicy with loads of flavor.

You might want to try some Tatuaje Verocrus, either the east or west coast. Oliva Master Blends I if you can find some, La Aurora Preferido Cameroon Maduros (the 100 anos won't fit your profile at all, it's way too smooth and sweet). The Master Blends III didn't have the spice you are looking for, but is heavy, as well as a Tatuaje Cojonu 2006. Litto Gomez lines are also worth trying.

Partagas blacks, mombacho's and Lempira's (check holts for these), the Joya de Nic Antano's fit perfectly, for a lil upgrade grab the gran reserva with the 2nd band, they have a little more depth in flavor

Yes the JDN Antano Gran Reserva is kick ass! I would also recommend the Litto Gomez Diez line.

Forgot the Gran Habano 3 Siglos, a real nice full bodied smoke. The new San Cristobal from Ashton is supposed to be potent too, got one but havn't smoked it yet.

It's potent, but the flavors aren't as sharp as they should be. Very dull, and muddled, nothing particularly stands out. To summarize my take on the Ashton San Cristobal - it's the VSG Pepin style.

When I saw the title of the thread, I was wondering how many posts it would take for someone to post this. Sure enough, not long.

These JdN Antaños and LFD Maduros are about as "heavy" as you'll get. I haven't even seen the rest of this thread but I'd bet someone already mentioned these.

Cool! Thanks everyone!

Tonight I went to the lounge to watch the ballgame and picked up a Brazilia Anaconda and took some of your advices and got an Olivia Series V, a camacho triple maduro (which I have been wanbting to try anyways since I love the Corojos) and I also picked up a maximus becasue one of the guys at the shop said it would fit my profile. I sure spent alot of cash . haha

I personally like the camacho triple maduro. Very nice cigar IMO, but some people have not had the same experiences with them that I have. They seem to be hit or miss from stick to stick. The two that I have had were great!
