Anyone else besides Jonesy and I into tattoos? Well I though for us that are it would be cool to start a thread and show em off a bit.

I just got the line work done yesterday on a cover up. Still have a lot of color work to do on this piece. I look forward to sharing it with you all in a couple of weeks when it's all finished. These pictures don't really do this tattoo justice becuase it wraps all around the back side of my arm... which the pictures don't really show. When I post the finished product I will include that side.

Before... some shitty tribal from '98...

The customized drawing. The koi is obviously symbolic of perserverence as well as good forune. The orchids are the flower of Venezuela and are symbolic of my fiance, who is from Venezuela. This also happens to be her favorite flower... and will look really good in the tattoo.

The line work...

And a little cleaned up...

The line work might look a little "light" in some areas. That was done on purpose and will not be fully appreciated until the color is done.

Here is another tattoo that was done by the same artist about a month and a half ago...

The pheonix is smbolic of rebirth. At the end of it's life, the mythological bird would set itself on fire and rise from the ashes. Kind of what my adolescence and early adulthood looked like!

Anyway, if you got 'em show em...

This is too funny. I have a shitty tribal, also from '98, that I'm gonna be covering up in the near future, and also a phoenix that I got basically for the same reason.

I got 2, debating a 3rd, nothing so big. "Honor" in Japanese on the left side of my chest, Eagle with my name on my right upper arm.

I have three.

A phoenix across my back, "Karma" on my left shoulder in Sanscrit, "thought" kanji on the right shoulder. Both shoulders are surrounded by a design of my own creation.

During lawschool, I planned to have a lady justice on my chest. her arms would have been mid-pectoral, feet at navel height or so. I wanted her in pin-up girl style, blingfolded and ball-gagged. I was in a weird place duriung school. Losing the evil ex-wife and falling in love again got me out of that place before getting this tattoo.

LOL - That is some scary shiate! Glad you made it back to a good place.

I've got Roy Orbison on my rear end. :D In reality, I've thought about getting a tattoo on and off for some time but I can never decide on anything that I would be happy with years down the line. I never want to regret something that I get inked onto my body, so I am better off holding out. At least, that's what I think.

Nice, I've got one from my shoulder to my elbow, thinking about getting another one on the other arm.

Y'all know what I think about tattoos. The biggest thing with them is make sure if you're debating on getting one, have an artist draw it out and don't just walk in a tattoo parlor and pick flash from the wall and have it done. I have been inked a total of 9 times (not sittings)...1 coverup and 2 touch ups included.....that's not something easy to pull off (a good cover up). Now on the other hand I have a full Japanese sleeve on my left arm that I have 29 hours in and still need about 30 more to complete to get it exactly like I want it ( upper inside of my arm, and left portion of my chest.)

Nice job on the cover up Mac. That's the bad thing about tribal work...the black ink fades faster than any other color.I like the koi....but I'm partial to Japanese themed tattoos anyway.

I've got two and have been thinking of a third for 25 years. One was done in Japan the old fashion way by hand and took a fair amount of time considering it's only 4x4.

I have 1 and am considering another. It will be a tribute tat to my Grandfather. He had his initials on his left forearm and received the tat during WWII. I'd like to get something similar, just not for sure yet if I want it in the same place.

I have more than a few.

Full sleeves, back work, chest work, etc. On my recent travels, I also went to LA and met up with a fine chicky who used to be out here in Miami Beach for some latest additions. Still toying with the notion of sharing these...

What episode will you be on

I'd like to see your work.

No, this was off-camera work only, just as my work with the Miami Ink boys was.

Did we do this allready, or am I thinking of another board??

Oh well...

I've got 2: one small, stylized, "ka" Kanji surrounded by a bear-paw-print on my left peck from like '98-99 and a dragon my my left upper-arm from 2001. The dragon needs some touch-up work...

I'm also looking for an artist for a third that I want don, so if you've got any recommendations let me know!

You live right where there are no shortage of amazing artists bro...

Outside of someone in the Military getting a tattoo, that has to be the most honourable reason I've ever heard of.

Congrats!!!

I have four tats...

My wedding date on my left wrist...
Kanji "forgiveness" on my right calf...
Tribal style dagger on my right bicep (full length)...

and my favorite one...
