Went to see it yesterday...Halloween (The original) is one of my favorites...this re-make was VERY good...I think I like anything Rob Zombie does...well worth it...what else can I say??

go and download the workprint of this film...1000 times better. you can tell the studio made him go back in and change tons after they saw it. Or better yet..go see Hatchet when it comes out next week.

Have not seen the new one but enjoyed the old one. Along those lines I totally enjoy watching the SAW trilogy.

I wanna see Hatchet reallly bad...i am all about the horror and/or gore

hahah, even House of 1000 Corpses?

/I liked it

Yeah i liked that one too...

Cigars and Zombie, you and I could be great friends. Just watched Halloween last night, the new one, on DVD..I thought it was a bit of allright. It seemed a little mild for Rob, but other than that it was pretty good.

I saw hatchet a while ago. Very inventive slasher fare...but it definately pays homage to the classics.

I just watched the trailer for Hatchet...really excited about this one...MX...i heard an interview with Rob Z on XM radio and he said that while it might not be as gory as SOME...he wanted to do some character development that didn't get done in the original...that's part of what i like about the remake...I found out why Michael turned out the way he did...and saw that he actually was a little bit human to the sister who didn't really ever make him feel like a piece of shit while growing up...i just love horror of any kind really...gimme horror, psychological, gory, bloody, hacked up, grabbing the arm chair....i love it...something sexy about that...

Rob Zombie is one hell of an artist. I love his music and his films.

Mel, is his wife in the new Halloween? Smokin hot...

eh, really? You all liked house of 1000 corpses? is that the first one? cuz that one was terrible, there was like 5 logical ending points but they kept dragging it on. The second one was better but not great. Maybe the 3rd's a charm.

I thought 1000 Corpses was one of the worst movies I've seen (and I've seen a lot). The Devil's Rejects was much better.

I didn't like Halloween at all. The new character development stuff was pretty tight, but after he slipped into "remake mode" the film lost it. Part of the original film's appeal as a horror movie is the tension and uncertainty. If you watch closely, there's really very little gore or even graphic violence. It's more of a psych job than a slasher flick, which is a good, good thing. There is very little of that tension in the remake. I also thought that McDowell was God awful as Dr. Loomis.

All in all, I think Halloween should have been left alone. All of the sequels after II are awful and this remake is not all that great. As a fan of Carpenter's work and the first 2 Halloween movies, I was very disappointed.

You can't remake a classic. Nothing is better then a young Jamie Lee Curtis running though the most dimly lit hospital of all time from a classic stalker.

Whats next? A new Exorcist version? Maybe another Omen or Friday the 13th? How about someone in Holywood make a NEW horror movie that doesn't suck?

They did remake the Omen, they tried to make a new Friday the 13th, plus a new release of Jason, and though I cant find it I'm pretty sure they remade the Exorcist. But yes its been awhile since they've made an actually scary movie and just not one with alot of Gore for shock value, I did like the newer version of Texas chainsaw massacre.

Actually if you want just a good movie that isn't gory at all, but just a good "jump in your seat" kinda scarey? An American Haunting is really good...about the Bell Witch...I will always prefer the original Halloween...it's probably my favorite...but the remake i thought was good...like i said...i like any horror...whether it be gross or just psychological...i think one of my other favorites is The Shining...
