I saw this 2 page add in the latest CA and wondered if anyone knew anything about it?

Just this on CF, posted by Pete himself:

"New from Ashton made by Pepin....."

Pepin is STOKED over the release of this cigar.
He claims tons of strength and a maduro wrapper.
As soon as the box cliches are done they will be ready to ship, Post RTDA.

Just spent the entire day with Pepin, he's quite the character....

The Ashton rep came into today and had a little information on these. They are post RTDA (so August) and will not be limited like the VSG or ESGs or even the Aged Maduro, open ordering :)

Also, the rep said it was not a maduro, although, I'd trust Pepin over the rep. MSRP is between $7 and $12 for the sticks.

Hope that helps :)

Has anyone heard any information on the sizes of these cigars. All I've been able to find out through Google is that there will be 6 of them, has anyone heard any specifics?

This following information is confirmed from Ashton:

Vitolas:
Clasico 5x50
Supremo 6x50
Guajiro 6.625x46 (w/ a pigtail)
Fabluoso 6.125x52 (torpedo)
Monumento 7.25x49
Maestro 6x60 (perfecto)

MSRP $8-$12

And some ad wordage on the cigars:

"Blended entirely from rich and delicious Nicaraguan tobaccos, these cigars feature dark, oil Nicaraguan wrppers. The flavor is rich and full-bodied, exhibiting a perfect balance between strength and complexity. Hearty notes of earh, cedar and spices are accompanied by lighter notes of walnuts and dark chocolate Each cigar is constructed impeccably and finished with a traditional Cuban Triple-Cap."

As to the wrapper, it doesn't say if it's a maduro or not. I'm leaning on that it probably isn't as I imagine they would have mentioned it. Judging by the pictures, you can't really tell, but they do appear to be a few shades darker than even the oscuro wrapper on the Tatuaje Cojonus (then again, pictures are deceiving, has anyone see a Tat Red label as dark as they are pictured in their ads?).

Ashton has held the trademark for the San Cristobal name for over 20 years now. Thanks to Jose "Pepin" Garcia they now have a cigar suitable for the name, San Cristobal.

Pepin Garcia blended this Nicaraguan puro using his 30 years of Cuban cigar knowledge. You will not be disapointed by the results. The San Cristobal is showcased by a dark, oily Nicaraguan wrapper. The blend is one that highlights a perfect balance of strength and complexity of flavors. San Cristobals are a solid medium bodied cigar with hearty notes of earth, cedar and spices accompanied by lighter notes of walnuts and dark chocolate.

Ashton will be releasing San Cristobal cigars some time in August. They will come 22 to a box with 6 sizes available. The first years release will total 300,000 cigars.

We're happy to announce Jack Schwartz Importer has San Cristobal available for Pre-Order on our website. To take a look at the new cigars please follow this link.
