So, I get home from work on Monday and there's a notice on my front door from the Mail Carrier. Seems that there is a package waiting for me at the post office, signature required ... who the heck is W. Forn Cook. Couldn't be the Passes I'm expecting because those she left as well, two big boxes. Couldn't be the purchases I've recently made either, those guys wouldn't send it signature required either. So yesterday afternoon I pick up the package at the PO, take home and open up the box. I'm then presented with a cocoon shaped object taped up and wrapped in bubble wrap, opening instructions are written on it. What the heck? 10 minutes later ...... OMG! ...... he sent it to me?!

Remember this?

Thanks Wade! it is truly an object of beauty and looks beautiful in our home..... I'll post pictures of it in its intended use as soon as I recharge the batteries on my camera.

I wondered who was getting this. Nice play Wade.

Wine cork box?

It's a wine bottle holder/display box. I saw it in a woodworking magazine that I subscribe to and thought it looked like a fun project, however not being a wine drinker, I needed to find someone to give it to. So I put up a post asking a question about wine bottles, David was the first one to give me a straight forward answer, so that's how I made my decision on who to send it to.

Funny thing is, when it was all finished and I posted the final pic of it, David was also the first one to reply, it was destiny.

David, I just hope it smelled as good when you opened it as it did when I sent it out, man I love the smell of varnish! Glad you like it and I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of it with a bottle in it. I'd have put one in, but not being a wine guy I didn't want to embarrass myself.

I did have my first port last week though and it was pretty tasty (for a cheap one I'm assuming) I think it was Six Cherries or something like that.

Wade,

I was wondering if you'd consider making a shadow box for my Habanos tubes collection? If so, perhaps we can talk some concepts over.

I am mightily impressed with your work. I think we're privileged to have a craftsman of your talents here at CigarPass.

I bought 8 birdseye boards about 5 years ago that just had insane grain to them. I've used a couple for small projects here and there. When you come across wood like that, you just need to pull the trigger and wait for the right project. I think it was in Wood magazine, or Woodworkers Journal. I can check if you want me to.
