Arg!

The wife and I have spent th last few weeks packing, and prepping to move out of the Hollywood apartment we've lived in for nearly 4 years. Lest weekend was the actual physical MOVE (a mere 6 blocks) and for the past few days we've been trying to get unpacked and living mostly out of boxes.

It is amazing how much mental stress/strain even a 6 block move can have on you.

Not to mention I haven't had the opportunity to relax with a nice smoke since packing my stash last week on Friday...

Hopefully I'll get to break my fast tonight. But, what should I smoke?

Didn't even need to read the post to feel for you, the title says it all. Smoke something that can stand up to all the liquor you need to consume.

The worst part is when you don't remember the box you put your cigars in and the liquor bottles are all busted. :(

I'm right there with you. Looks like our storage unit is running out of space faster than we are running out of furniture to put in it. Damnit

Well, I didn't get to break my fast lastnight. But tonight is the night...

In fact, it might be, SHARK TIME!

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone.
Now I'm jsut hoping the cable gets hooked up before Sunday...

I hear you, man. I just moved from OHIO to ARIZONA. That totally sucked, but made it through. It all gets better in the end...

In L.A. moving just a few blocks can seem like miles. You are a brave man and better you than me  , whatever you decide to drink and smoke it will taste a hell of a lot better after this.

You boys have it easy. :) I've lived in 7 different places in the last 7 years. Moved out from my moms house down to San Diego for college in 2000. 6 months later we opted out of our lease because the place sucked. We lived in a house for another 6 months until the summertime (which is when all the leases end/begin around the college area). Then I moved to an apartment on campus. We partied a little too much that year and weren't asked to renew. So we moved across the street to another apartment complex for a year. Graduated and then moved down to Pacific Beach. Lived there for a year then decided to spend a summer backpacking Europe. So I moved all my stuff back to my moms house while I was abroad. Got back from Europe, lived with the parents for a few months, then moved out again. That is where I am currently but they are converting this building into condo's so it's moving time again in March. Soon to be 8 times in 7 years! It sucks but I've actually become quite efficient at moving. Hopefully I'll stay there for more than a year but that depends on the market here in Orange County (not to far away from purchasing a place).

Moving sucks. After 20+ years in the Army and countless states, cities, and posts, I am glad to be retired and stable. Hope that you enjoyed the WOAM and the frustration is now behind you.

The last time we moved, my company hired an outfit to come move us. My wife and I actually sat in lawn chairs in the front yard and watched the guys carry all the stuff out and put it in the truck. When the house was empty we turned over the lawn chairs and called a cab (they moved our car), which took us to the hotel. We flew out the next day.

I was working when the truck showed up and by the time I got home, everything was pretty much done.

A couple of years later we moved again...I was working when the stuff got packed and then was out of town the whole first week (in class) so by the time I got home, everything was done!

Moving isn't that bad, you just have to plan it right!

Living the dream. May be going to Germany. Hope to be where you are in several years. Enjoy...
