Well guys I need some ideas and pictures to get me started putting together my smoking room.

It never gets "bad ass" cold here in the PacNW so we opted for an open deck with a roof when we did our remodel project this summer. We (the wife and I) really like it and smoke here most every day:

:) Very nice pad BlindedByScience. Well here in Akron it gets screaming a$$ cold, so in the winter the smoke shop or a bar is all I have. In the summer the pad and deck around the pool out back works for me. Sorry no pictures though. :cool:

Yeah Shane, I think you ought to got with at least the pic of the guy wearing the studs around his neck. That ought to set the mood just right when you have your buddy's over to smoke. :laugh:

I purchased one of the t-shirts from him last year, before the "Got Puros?" shirt from Harmony, it was thin, stretched out and just sad quality. It's been living in the Goodwill pile for about 8 months now.

That sucks. I bought a couple 11x17 prints from him a couple years back, and although he does the prints himself on a B size printer, the quality for price was pretty nice.

I should also say that his customer service was very good. The first shirt he sent me had a hole in it and he exchanged it with no problems, but after a couple of washes this thing looked terrible. I'm just talking about the quality of the t-shirt here, where as the one from Harmony looks GREAT! still.

How about one of those storage sheds that looks like cabin kind of thing. Delivered on a roll back. I think they run in the 1-2K price range. You could go cheaper if you weren't hung up on the cabin look and went with the ordinary shed.

Slap on a real door, line it with some faux wood paneling, and play with some wood trim to make it look like a cigar lounge. Go dumpster diving/yard saleing for a pleather chair to kick back in. It would be less then the price of converting a room in the house with an exhaust fan and all the other goodies.

When we have a real back yard thats going to be my plan of action as smoking in the house is a no go and in the winter you need some sort of shelter around here.

Call it the herf shack.
 
I am Putting a room in my garage as we speak. Gonna share it with the dog and killer cat. I love old airplanes and nose art. so I painted it with alumium rustoleum. that didn't work so well so I went with a battleship grey and painted faux rivits. Painting the switch and receptical covers saftey orange. am putting up trouble lights for lighting. I am even putting in a fan that looks like the nose of a plane. I am going to do a couple of murals on the walls and such. I wanted to do a sapranos theme but my wife stopped the Bada Bing plans at the stripper part. :angry:

Not to mention, that pole gets COLD out there in the garage all winter....

Sounds like a great room. I'd love to see pics.

I've thought about that idea for the CT winters. Perhaps run a wire in for power, have one of those ceramic heaters, a cople lights, perhaps an exhaust fan so as to not have to leave the door open.
I wonder if the whole project could be done for under 2-3000 bucks...might be worth it!

It could easily be done for less than 3k and quite likely less than 2k depending on the size of the shack you bought. The biggest expense other than the building itself would likely be the furnishings and finish inside. The sky's the limit there. If you buy a build it yourself kit, you can save even more on the structure.

My father in law just built a shop out of one of these kits and it is insulated and heated with all the power he needs for his tools. It ended up costing him about $4500, but it is 10x16 with a loft. It is much larger and has way more power than what would be needed for a smoke shack. I would think that an 8x8 shack would be plenty big just for smoking. I'd probably go 8x10 if I planned on much company.

I'm in the process of converting a 10x20 room on the back of my garage into my "man cave". It is really only in the planning stages right now, but it will likely be finished sometime next year. The structure itself is done, it just needs to be insulated and finished off.
 
Huh...you know of a company that sells those do-it-yourself kits? Especially insulted.

Then, how to run power from the house? I want enough room for 4 guys to sit around and smoke.
