I am new to cigars and love the experience thus far. I am learning so much and haven't even started. I just got my spanish cedar humidor and a drymistat (another brand though). I also like the occasional dip (chewing tabacco) and was wondering; could I keep the chew in the humidor to keep it longer as well? If so should I leave the cap on or off the tin? I guess I am asking if humidors are good for all types of tabacco or just cigar tabacco? Finally, have you ever heard of adding whisky to tabacco to keep it "rejuvinate" it? Thanks

Do you want your cigars to taste like dip when you smoke them? Sounds like a perfect way to screw up some cigars to me...

And my Grand-pop added apple slices to his chew to keep it moist. Should work with dip as well.

*edit* And I just noticed this was your first post, welcome to CP, please introduce yourself in the http://www.cigarpass.com/forumsipb/index.php?showforum=34 welcome forum

This should probably be posted HERE.

I wouldn't put chew, especially with the top off, in my humi. The smell/flavor would blend with your cigars. Hope this helps.

Agreed, dont taint the longfiller with longcut. I have the same habit although I go through a can long before it goes dry. I would suggest putting it in a zip lock bag and I guess you could add a small humidifier disc if you think it would help.

*edit for spelling*

I just noticed that is should be posted elsewhere, sorry about that. I figured it probably wouldn't be a good mix. I have a dip once every 2 weeks so it goes dry before I am halfway done with the tin. Thanks for the replies, I will go introduce myself...

We used to add bourbon to our Cope, the problem is if you add enough to remoisten the dip, you destroy the can and if you don't add enough, the alcohol evaporates & leaves a sticky mess that you can't use anyway. If you want flavored snuff try the types in the plastic cans, they put so much additives in it it will last for a week or so.
I wouldn't put anything in my humi's except cigars. JMO

I do get the ones in the plastic containers, I still call them tins, sorry for the confusion. I get Skoal Pouches. I just don't chew enough to make them last, I do enjoy it when I do though. Any other ideas now that you know it is a plastic container? Thanks
