Grateful1 says I should always light a cigar with a cedar strip, that was lit off a lighter that is NOT a zippo, after gently toasting the foot with another cedar strip.
I believe that blasting it with the most possible heat from the pointy bit at the end of the flame of my torch immediately kinda sears it, and seals in the flavor, like a seared Ahi tuna.
Which one of us is right? Oh, and do you like clipping the end of your cigars? I don't.
