Calling all CP electricians!

Man that looks like SHIT!!! None of the runs are even long enough to get into the box. Looks like you have some work ahead of you.
Yep…. All the outlets and switches are the same way when I pulled them to test the connections, It’s become very obvious that the person who installed this was wearing a DeWalt hard hat, not a Klein hard hat 😂 It seems as if they connected the outlets/switches first, and then ran everything back to the junctions. Because I don’t know how they physically could have make those connections in the boxes with the wire that taut.

It is going to be expensive, but this is a yank it out and start over project.

Also, sounds like your home inspector wasn't very thorough when you bought.

I think the person who installed that was wearing a helmet and licking the windows on the short bus!

Yeah. That’s probably what I’ll do. Only other option is to cut out the rats nest, run two junctions, and rerun lines to the outlets and switches.

Both hot and ground
Oh jeez, you do see some strange stuff in older homes. I wonder how the guy who did it originally didn’t electrocute himself?

If it’s in the garage and the garage isn’t dry walled over or something, running new romex around is pretty easy. Now pulling from the house…I would probably hire someone, but if that isn’t the issue, then you should be able to tackle this one. :)

It’s like in my finished basement. I have on the east wall a cable outlet. I have the west well a cable outlet.

I have no cable to either outlet but the outlets are connected together? Wtf? And six feet away from one of them is a actual cable line, but let’s go ahead and drywall everything including the ceiling so the next person has to destroy it all to get cable to the tv.

Thank you Roku for your genius. Lol
