Gettin' my nerd on, Hopp Schwiez!
This has been an interesting last month and I thought I would share with my brothers here. I was in Alaska from July 1 to the 26. Most of that time was spent here
and dressed like this
We caught a lot of fish and were able to eat some, idiot fish, halibut, black cod, ling cod, yellow eye, and other rock fish. While I was in Kodiak I applied for a job. While I was on the trip I got an email about a faculty position at the University of Saint Thomas in Houston. I applied while on our day off in Kodiak and before I got back they had asked me out for an interview. At the end of the trip I had a few days in Anchorage and got to herf twice with Swissy, Porter and Ruby. I feel bad for all you people who haven't had the pleasure of herfing with them. It is fantastic food and fantastic company. when I got back the interview went well, they offered the job and I took it. Starting Aug 22 I'll be an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. I'll be moving to Houston in mid August. I think we should get a regular Houston herf going on.
