I've been noticing lately that after not smoking a cigar for 3 or 4 days that I am unexplainably jittery. I feel a bit tense. I am trying to sort this out because now the weather is cold, I probably get an opportunity to smoke 1-2 times per week down from 4-5 per week during the warmer months.

Mind you I do not have the "craving" badly that I will light up when it's 20 degrees outside or go to a place where smoking is allowed. Although, I will think of what I want to smoke when the opportunity allows but not to the point that I will salivate.

Expert info appreciated.

Sounds like withdrawal to me, but I'm no expert (or am I???). I've experienced this several times when going from times of heavy cigar smoking to being too busy to light one up for a while. I don't think anyone here will argue the power of nicotine, nor the amount of nicotine present in a cigar. While some studies have found the nicotine potentially beneficial to your health, you still should keep in mind that it has a powerful tendency to cause addiction. In my experience, it goes away pretty soon unless you've been in that habit for a long time. If it bothers you, don't smoke for a week or two and you'll probably find that the cravings go away or lessen appreciably.

Very funny, Anthony!

Gary, I've been doing decaf (3-4 Venti Sumatra decaf/day) but one can argue that there is still caffeine there.

dk, I will have to try the 2 week drying out period.

If you smoked more you wouldn't be having these problems!
