Hello,
First, this is for my office at work so it has to look nice. I have Spanish cedar on the way. I will either velcro or carpet tape the cedar to the sides and bottom. I may create shelves out of cedar and get rid of the wine shelves. Its been cleaned and cools to a high temp of about 63. I'll have a heat problem in the summer and will probably unplug in winter. This gives me 63 to about 70 year round. I think I'll go with beads. This is as big as I can really get by with at work. Thanks, Joe

1 Anyone try these coolers, it's a HAIER from Lowes?
2 Any drawbacks from this setup?
3 Suggestions?
4 For the cedar, tape, velcro or hot glue?

I have a 28 bottle vino temp. Not familiar with the brand at Lowes. I am using about 3 Lbs of beads spread around. I have a few boxes and 3 of those 20 ct free humis from Cigars International for my singles. I have a shotglass of beads in each.

It holds RH right around 65 to 68 and my smokes are very happy.
I am planning on installing cedar on the sides and having handymandave make me some shelves in the future when money gets better. But it's working great now.

I would actually pass on lining it with cedar. Just go with trays or shelves, "Luan" can be used instead of actual cedar. Leave slots for air circulation and all should be fine.

This is a set up from rectifythis

I am running a 28 count Vinotemp, just like a lot of other guys. There is no really difference other than Vinotemps were clearance out by Target for a really low price before the holidays.

I have approx. 2 1/2 pounds of beads throughout. I still have the wire racks it came with and plan on making some shelves this spring. If you have lots of loose singles you can always order a cedar tray from a vendor, or take one out of a desk top humi. Other than that, I would recommend picking up some boxes for storage.

Good luck filling her up.

2 1/2 pounds you say? Crap...I don't think ordered enough beads. I made the mistake of shipping my beads snail mail from Hearfelt. Then I ordered around Christmas time (just before) and got caught in that madness. Needless to say I am still waiting on my order. Maybe I did order 2 pounds and just cant remember anymore. Its all good.

Update: My beads and cigars labels arrived to day after a month in transit! Now on to setting up my vinotemp.

2 1/2 lbs beads, 3 drawers and 2 shelves. I personally don't think you need to line the walls, as minimal as it may be, all space is vital.

I agree with this. Lining the sides will just take up space. If you get cedar shelves and trays it'll be more than enough. I have a 28 bottle Vinotemp and with 3 shelves/2 trays of cedar is has a nice cedary smell when I open it now.

I was getting by with only 1 lb. of beads and only recently upped it to 1.5 lbs. and it's been fine. There's either something wrong with my vinotemp or I have a lot of moisture near where I'm storing it because the RH always stays in the 60's with or without beads. Weird.
