got together with some friends at the local watering hole, pulled out a montecristo churchill maddie but i could'nt enjoy it with all the cigarette smoke around me. the only solution that i could come up with was to puff faster so as to build up a wall of my own smoke. anyone have a different strategy? :cool:
 
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I only smoke cigars, and when my wife smokes cigarettes (EVEN WHILE I'M SMOKING A CIGAR) the cigarettes smell terrible. Completely different smell.

I thought I was crazy..... glad to see someone else feels (or smells) the same way I do.
 
I do not smoke cigarettes, but the smell of them doesn't bother me.
 
Went out to a herf on Saturday night, and was around cigar smoke for hours. Later that night I went to a bar to meet some friends. We were on the rooftop bar, and everyone was smoking. Made me feel sick, and the smell is really nasty. I can't understand why some places ban cigars but allow cigarettes.
 
I'm with the hate the cigarette smell crowd. In fact, at our local shop, they usually tell people who light up cigarettes to go outside. People come in all the time looking to buy cigarettes. The response: This is a cigar store. Gas station is down the street.

Cigarette smoke doesn't bother me, the smell of dirty cigarette filled ashtrays do. I get mad at my wife every time she puts out a butt in my cigar ashtray and leaves it.
 
Can't stand them either. I think it's all the nasty chemicals that cause the stench.
 
The smoke doesn't really bother me much. I used to smoke cigarettes, and actually like them, but I don't think I will ever go back. I love cigars too much now.
 
Strange, I've noticed the exact same thing and thought it was just me! Glad to know I'm not alone (in my newely aquired extreme dislike of cigarette smoke and my passion of cigars). I've never smoked cigarettes and have always disliked the smell, but for the most part is was tolerable. Now it's just horrid! I guess it must be the combo of cheap ass tobacco, chemicals, and paper.

Another cigarette-smoke-hater. Funny thing is, all my friends cant stand the smoke of my cigars....??? It was rather humorous watching them inhale a few puffs! :laugh:

Seems like cigar smokers and cigarette smokers are constantly at odds. Buddy told me his story of how some waitress from a bar was outside smoking a cigarette and complained to my friend that "cigars are disgusting". He felt the same way about what she was smoking. LOL.
 
I hate the normal brand of cigarettes. They just smell out right revulting. But my friend would buy some really exotic cigarettes that actually had a nice smell to them from places like Germany and every where else. But when it comes to brands like Malboro, Kool, Camels, etc etc etc...They just are nasty.

In the bar setting, usually take a really full bodied smoke that really puts out the smoke which over powers the cigarette smokers and they leave the area immediately. I dont know how many times people moved from me because I do this. :whistling:
