So, me being the impatient person that I am, I doubt I have the restraint to keep a cigar in a humidor for a few years to age them before smoking it. Are there any places that i can purchase cigars that have been aged already for a few years?

And plus I never smoked a well aged cigars so I don't know if I'm missing out or not.

I don't know of any place that sells aged Non-cubans...For the Cubans, just stick around and get to know some people and it will come with time ;)

Hmm, neither do I. Then again, without box codes to keep track of, there's no real way of knowing how old a N/C is unless you just happen to remember when you bought it or that info was passed on to you when you got the cigar.

Yea, I was hoping there were online places that sells such things, Like, we are selling a box of _______ and it's been in our massive welll humidified storage area for 2 years....

Since you're doing a newbie trade with Joey M. I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of nicely aged sticks

Sometimes there are vendors who will talk about the age of cigars they bought out lots of. JR, CI, and CC have had cigars that are noted as having yellow Cello and bloom.

I have purchased the Encanto brand from CI twice now and gotten yellow cello on those. They are decent smokes for the little $$ they cost. Sometimes though there is a reason no one smoked the cigars and let them get old.. You are taking a crap shoot at best when you buy cigars that are already old.

For non-cuban, just go to your local shop and ask them to show you the yellowest cello they have. :)

Macanudo has some vintage ones with a date in a big red label. Not bad, though mild.

The best way to buy aged NC's to to hang out on the different cigar boards. Here, Cigar Weekly, and Herfers Paradise come to mind. People are always selling off some of their stock in order to make new purchases. Plus you usually get a pretty good deal too. Otherwise you could post looking to try some aged cigars. I am sure you will find someone that bites on each board. There are some people with really deep coolerdors. Like 5 deep... LOL

As I am quickly discovering myself, hanging out around here, they quickest cure to this is simply buy quicker than you can go through the 'gars. If you get 2 or more of anything and always put one or more at teh bottom of the humi, as they stack up, you won't get back down to it for a couple years.

In the year I've been in this hobby, I've gone from No Humi to a 25, a 75 and now just got a 300...... I'm putting one of each I get in my 25 and the rest in the 300 with the thought that I'll just refill the 25 from the 300 as I run low, but in the couple month since I started this my 25 hasn't run low (and only got more full) so I doubt I'll be busting into my 300 any time soon. I'm guessing I'll get to those in 2006 after I move from Japan (if I'm lucky), and by then they'll be nice 'n' aged.

CI has a deal on Don Elias sticks for less than a buck a each. They claim they have 4 years of aging on them. I just got some of the Toro's, the cello is quite yellow. I'm half way through my first one right now and it's actually pretty good for less than a buck a stick! (disclaimer...I'm a newbie so take it for what it's worth) :D

I'm not sure if it is just me, but it seems some of the 'aged' cigars I've gotten are a little more sensitive, for example:

I had a Montecristo vintage 93 (I think) that seemed to develop mold.

And I had a JR Ultimate that was advertised as aged one year hatch tobacco beetles.

Anyway I have determined too that the best way to get aged cigars is too buy more than you need. Most people won’t have a well stocked humidor overnight, it takes years, and so far my first year has been pretty successful.

I wouldn't get all hot and bothered about aged stuff. I've had a ton of 5+ year old sticks, a number of 10+, and a couple 20+. They were good...but they weren't some amazingly different cigar.

I've had some 5+ year old Opus X and I actually prefer the younger ones. Granted, I like a little kick w/ my cigars. If you want mild, buy a mild cigar to start with. Requires less patience :)

I would like to place an order for some aged "el dentes" myself.

Partagas Lusitania BM OASC $287.00

CI was advertising some CAO Anni Extremes I think that were around 4 yeard old. Plus the Punch Gand Cru VR's were reportedly older. I have bought various different things from JR's that have come in with a date written in pencil on the bottom. Last thing that comes to mind is some Flode de Allones Especiales #5 that had a 2002 written on the bottom.
