So I was running to the toilet yesterday cause I had to pee like mad. I make it in there and as I start the gusher, I let out a loud WWWHHHHOOOOOOOAAAAAAA, and immediatly start into the Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam Cartoon where Yosenite is riding a camel across the dessert and can't get his camel to stop. He yells out Whoooooooa, Whoooooooa Camel, Whooooooa, takes out his shotgun and smacks the camel over the head with it and yells, When I saaaaaaysssss Whhhhhhhhooooooooooaaaaaaassssss, I meeeeeeaaaaannnnssssssss Whoooooooooooaaaaaaas.

I chuckle a bit as I finish in the toilet, and come out of the bathroom to see my wife shaking her head and laughing at me.

It got me thinkin, of all the new cartoons, none are as fun as we used to have. I have three kids that love watching old Tom and Jerry with me, or Bugs Bunny.

What cartoon do you guys remember. Refresh my memory.

I was just talking about Popeye the Sailor last night. I called my youngest Sweet Pea, and my older two thought it was funny. I explained that Sweet Pea was the name of Popeye's son. They have no idea what I was talking about.

Tom and Jerry, Space Ghost, Herculoids, Gigantor, Superman (original animated series), Josie and the Pussycats, Underdog, Johnny Quest, Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo (no scrappy doo please), Magilla Gorilla.

Good memories there. Saturday morning cartoons on the networks today are just, well, pathetic. I'm not particularly enamored of the Nick-izization of cartoons either.

Wilkey

The Looney Tunes, and Tom and Jerry have all others beat. The Superfriends, and Scooby Doo minus Scrappy Doo. I agree with Wilkey 100% are both good alternates.

Of course Bugs and friends.
GI Joe
Transformers
Tom & Jerry
GI Joe
Spiderman
Voltron
Flintstones
GI Joe
Scooby Doo
Pink Panther
Dastardly & Mutley
Yogi's 1st Christmas (movie but still a cartoon...all other yogi cartoons sucked!!)
GI Joe

Best: Tom and Jerry, Loony Toons, Road Runner

Worst: Davy & Goliath (this wasn't a cartoon, but it was on right before 'saturday morning cartoons' so I watched it, YUK!
It was like a 'god squad' version of lassie!

Nothing beats the old Tom and Jerry's. The older, the better.

Best ever T&J was when the little green devil mouse was talking to Jerry about what a bitch Tom was for always dropping him for a "dame"

Remember Tom strumming that bass...Is you is, or is you ain't my baby.....

CLASSIC!!

Tom and Jerry has the highest incidence of violence per minute that any other cartoon. Not making a judgment here. Just an interesting piece of useless info.

Tom & Jerry
Johnny Quest
Speed Racer
Underdog
Woody Woodpecker
Casper
Felix the Cat
Pink Panther...... old school
Yogi Bear
Flintstones
Mr Mcgoo
Heckle and Jeckle
Mighty Mouse
Gumby
Atom Ant

Oh hell....... what was the skunk's name who was always trying to shag some tail?

I'm sure I'll think of a few more.

Jetsons

Funny you would mention that..... I wrote a college paper on cartoon violence and Tom & Jerry and The Roadrunner were the two shows I used to illustrate.

BTW, I concluded that a childs teaching, up bringing, and all around living enviroment is what pushes people to a violent way of life not cartoons.

Flintstones
Jetsons
Tom & Jerry
Droopy
Rocky/Bullwinkle
and anything and everything ever done by Tex Avery

I'd forgotten about Rocky and Bullvinkle. The animation wasn't up to the standards of Warner Bros., MGM and Disney, but the humor was on another level.

Old Tom & Jerry
Flintstones
Scooby Doo
Road Runner & that Wylie Coyote
Old Looney Tunes Bugs Bunny & crew

When I was really young I used to Love Speed Racer & one called Kimba The White Lion. Saw Speed Racer not long ago and thought it was dumb as hell.

I know it's not a cartoon but, I used to love this show called H.R. Puffinstuff as a child. whoever thought that show up was definitely Puffing Stuff. :D

I liked almost all of those listed. Unfortunately, the current crop of cartoons suck. I can't even find Looney Toons on TV anymore.

Genseng listed most of my old favorites, but no doubt Bugs Bunny was the best. Only one character got over on Bugs. Anyone know who it was?
